  1. In general, is it a better to have your vinyl mastering/plating done at the same facility it's being pressed at, or to have it mastered/plated separately and sent to the pressing facility?
  2. I hope you have some of these left by Friday...
  3. "Let Love In" is probably my favorite Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album. There are albums that have better songs, but I can listen to "Let Love In" over and over again.
  4. Ever heard Fall Out Boy's version of Love Will Tear Us Apart? Terrible.
  5. Anybody have the pressing info for "End Transmission" by Snapcase? I've been listening to this album a lot lately. What a great record.
  6. I'm pretty sure it was Julio, the guy playing bass for them now. It was towards the end of their run (I think it was their last tour before they released the s/t), so they may have switched him out before that, or or it was a last little jaunt to get him warmed up. But he was definitely not blond.
  7. I like the song a lot! I'd buy the record anyway. Their first album was good enough to make them golden in my book. Plus they were really good live. I saw them towards the end of their touring cycle for "Lafcadio" down here in Baton Rouge, and they put on a great show. I talked to their bass player afterwards, and he was really humble and a nice guy. Reason enough to support the band.
  8. I am stoked for this. I loved Lafcadio, but the s/t didn't really do it for me. I haven't heard anything from the EP as I don't use iTunes, so the vinyl will be the first time I hear this. Is the EP any good?
  9. EDIT: I no longer have an extra copy of the Danzig picture disk.
  10. I would like all three of these. What would you want for them, either trade or money wise?
  11. Didn't think so. You can't blame a guy for trying, though.
  12. Thanks for the info everybody. Very helpful. It would take a LOT to get those AFI records from me. I wouldn't mind parting with the Coheed, though. I wouldn't mind trading it for that Jesus Christ picture disk. Let Me know if you want to make it happen.
  13. So..the subject line says it all...how do you find pressing information? I've tried doing some Google searches to no avail. So where do you guys get all this information? Is there some secret website that is undetectable, like some Vinyl Fight Club? Or do you contact the label directly? I'm not really looking for anything in particular, I'd just like to know for future reference.
  14. Yeah, I know. It's a very minor, trivial complaint. But I'm a minor, trivial kind of guy. It's a terrific movie in the end, and that's all that really matters.
  15. I saw it on Sunday and was quite impressed. All of the actor were spot on, and of course Tim Burton knows how to set a mood. My only thing is, I'm getting kind of weary of Johnny Depp playing weird British guys, especially after he's spent so much time playing one high profile character (Jack Sparrow). There was at least one point in the movie where he said something and it was like "Jack Sparrow, what the hell are you doing here? This isn't your movie, go away!" Of course, that's a very minor complaint, and didn't hinder my enjoyment of the film at all. All in all, A+.
  16. Ha ha. How old are you talking about? I think I saw some Beethoven at the Goodwill yesterday. They looked like first pressings, too.
  17. you're telling me! I nearly wet myself going through the online store! At least three times!
  18. Hey all. I just discovered the Vinyl Collective today, and I am stoked! This place looks like such a great community of vinyl lovers! I've only just gotten started really collecting vinyl, and all the other boards I've been on seem to be centered around more classic, 60's and 70's music, while V.C. seems to be more based on more recent indie/punk/etc. music. It's even cooler that I discovered this site today, as just yesterday I got in the mail 2 Joy Division vinyl: A US Pressing of the Komakino 7" flexi and a US Jukebox promo of Love Will Tear Us Apart. Joy Division is my main collecting focus, and I have a long road ahead of me! Looking forward to some of these vinyl releases from V.C. That Sparta colored vinyl sounds sick, as does the Alkaline Trio Goddamnit re-issue!
