CR, CR was my first exposure to Pavement. Not really sure why, but it seems to be pushed the most in promotion, etc.

That response is ridiculous.

I see a lot of people assuming that this is going to be a record store only release, yet I can't see that Var has said anything to that effect yet. Or am I missing something?
He hinted that it was a possibility in one of the older threads. To my knowledge, he has not said anything definite, one way or the other.

I don't know man, I've been to a bunch of their shows and there always seemed to be a lot of people who were just there, like me.
Until the reunion show in orlando (which was still pretty awesome crowd wise, for the most part) I don't think I've ever been to a HWM show where the audience didn't seem as passionate as the band. Oh, and also the Civic Tour where they were opening for The Get Up Kids, Thrice, and Dashboard Confessional...no one cared, and I was sad. I have a ton of friends who really don't like them, but I've never heard "boring" as a reason.

I really enjoyed them both (the first a little more). Neither were among the funniest of the series, but definitely a good start to the new season. Can't wait for more!

maritime glass floor #46/50 tour version, hand numbered/screened on a carol king cover
Do you have pictures of this? I'm really just curious to see it, never heard of it before.

I hope they do a show I went to I was at Orlando and NYC would be stoked for recordings of either although the Orlando show was far better.
If they are all the same catalog number (280ab, 280cd, etc.) I'm going to guess they are all going to be "Live in Chicago". I was at the orlando show also, and it would be awesome to have some recordings from it, but I kind of like the consistency also.
Regardless, super excited for this. I hope if it's exclusive to record stores I can find a way to grab one.

New Orleans was atempted and it couldn't come together, the promoter couldn't find ANY local bands. Total bummer. And Tallahassee is honestly one of our favorite cities to play. City has "character"
Tallahassee seems to get really good show turnouts. I still hate that city though.

In 2 weeks I'm going to Helen, GA with about 10 friends to stay in a cabin on a mountain which I am pretty stoked about! This is the cabin:
My groomsmen and I took a trip to Helen last year before my wedding, and it was great. It wasn't that house, but one very similar (and probably very close). Super nice house, with a hot tub and a grill. Local store had awesome steaks and burgers. The little German town was fun and weird. Helen was just a cool area to explore, as there really is not much to do.
My wife and I will be going with her family to Gatlinburg for the fourth, but that's all I'll have time for this year.

I've got a test for "It's All Crazy..." if you want to make an offer. Probably won't let it go as cheap as $30 though.

Really been wanting to pick this album up, but alas no cash. Maybe now's the time to pony up.

we get thunderstorms just about every afternoon around 3-5pm and its annoying. I like the rain most of the time but it only rains for like 20-45 mins and then it gets really humid and gross. Plus it always happens around rush hour and for as much as it rains in florida people never seem to know how to drive in it.
No joke, I thought people in Florida drove poorly until I moved to Alabama. This is the big leagues of terrible drivers, especially in the rain. Consider yourself lucky.

Unless HWM is planning on touring like they used to, I don't see any reason why George can't just be in both bands.
Agreed. He has juggled multiple projects before, and done a fine job of it. While I understand that AM! is absolutely a full-time band, HWM probably won't ever be again. Hot Water Music just would not be that without all four members.
-
I used to love thunderstorms, until I moved into my current house. Now I'm afraid the ceiling's going to spring a leak or cave in somewhere. Plus our driveway turns into a mudpit after the slightest rain, and takes forever to dry because it gets almost no sun. I am so ready to move...

I hate screen protectors. They're not worth it IMO. The iPhone screen won't scratch unless your really try to or by freak accident. The front and the back are the same now, so they should be pretty durable. Looking at mine it seems like the Apple logo is under the glass too, so that should protect that as well.
You really do want to protect the sides though, those are the antennas and are quite important, thus the Bumper I guess.
The front and back are different glass. I hate screen protectors so much. I've never used one, of any material, that I felt was worth it.

whereas the front is gorilla glass, as is this:

They've been talking about this for a while now...hopefully something happens soon! Also, I don't like the idea of HWM playing without george...

Using ios4 now. Seems very smooth, going to take me some time to get used to this multitasking business though. The "Places" feature in photos is a nice touch.

I started doing this at some point, but I ended up thinking it was kind of silly. Most of the genres started overlapping, some only had a few records, it was more trouble than good. I did keep my instrumental records separated from everything else, but will probably merge them all again when I move. Alphabetical -> chronological is the way to go.

Nope that was it, sorry!

There was a guy on here a little while ago selling a bunch of SS 7"s. I don't remember the username, but I bought the FHH/Navel split and should be able to find his email if you want.

Great. Now I'm sad again.
Seriously. Great episode, but I get sad just thinking about it. Hearing Fry sing "Walking on Sunshine" in a totally different episode seriously made me sad the other day.

It is crappy that people base your status and quality on what kind of phone you have, but at the same time I can understand how a client would feel more comfortable knowing you could get emails, check proofs, etc. when you are not around a computer (even though we may not always want to be able to do that).

I agree that the movies were weak in comparison to the tv show, but I still really enjoyed them. Plus I think the biggest problem was that the writers weren't used to writing 90 minutes worth of show. I'd imagine it's significantly harder to get a cohesive consistently funny 90 min movie than 22 min episode out of a team of writers, and I thought they did a good job.
Regardless, I'd take mediocre futurama over no futurama any day.
