The idea of using kickstarter to start a label really sucks though.

Why? I just don't really get all the kickstarter hate. I agree that the music you put out should be emotional to you, and you should be passionate about your releases, but not everybody has the funds or resources to start a label. Of course you could just say "then don't start a label", but if this can be used as a launching pad then why not?

It may not be a legit way to start a company, but I certainly think it's a decent means to getting a release out.

I'm kinda bummed. I skipped their recent shows in AL and GA because I figured they'd be back on this tour. Hopefully they add an ATL date on July 5th, but that's pretty out of the way for them.

Man, I fucking LOVE Mander Salis, but I thought Cotton Teeth was boring as all get out. You should put that one out instead.

For some reason I missed the part of the original post that talked about this. You should revisit Cotton Teeth. That album is so good (as is Mander Salis). I would certainly pledge for either of those. Do it!

I see absolutely no reason not to do it. Good incentives, very clear timeframe and goal, easy progress tracking. It's just like a very well organized preorder. The only downside I see is the potential for not having the record pressed after it's announced, but it's not like that hasn't happened outside of kickstarter.

I watched the first few episodes of this show and thought it was terrible. Then recently my wife and I decided to give it another shot and went through all the recent episodes we had ondemand and I was definitely entertained. Still my least favorite thursday night show (sorry...) but it's good. Especially Abed.

Got mine yesterday from AE. Lucked out and got violet, sans violet ticket...The whole package was done so well. I will be listening to it tonight.

did anyone get theirs from Aural Exploits yet? see mine is marked as shipped, but now there's no mention of it being colored. hm.. hope it is. will see when it arrives.

Agreed. I loved the movie, and Sam Rockwell played that character perfectly. Really all of the acting was pretty great. I thought both major scenes with Whiplash were too short.

I believe there are two versions of swagger on green: 1st press standard jacket, 2nd with gatefold jacket. I have had the standard for a long time, and I feel like I saw pictures of a repress with a gatefold. Maybe someone else can confirm that?

Yeah, I generally opt for packaging over vinyl color, but that orange looks really good. I will probably end up getting the deluxe as well, it just looks too nice!

I'm actually happy now that I decided to get the green fancy version. I have the first press of Red Of Tooth And Claw and it's on a very similar color to the blue fancy version. The green should complement the reds and oranges of the album artwork nicely.

Have you received this yet? I really want to see a picture of it. I want the fancy version, but wasn't crazy about the blue. I feel like I would prefer orange to green right now, but am curious.

Love this album, but that line about walking with spiders just about wrecks it for me...

The only line that bothers me, that I've noticed so far, is

Of the new releases I've heard so far this year these are my favorites. The only one I've been disappointed with is Omni. I'm sure Gaslight will make the list once I listen to it.

Unfortunately, it's 120g black vinyl. No clue on numbers, probably just a continuous pressing. And I'll definitely check out your stuff, sounds like something I would be in to!

Neko Case worked with two photographer/artists and another designer on the cover. Not sure of their names anymore, I will try to find where I read it.

But yeah, I love it too. Looks great.

I love it. On first listen I was kind of on the fence, but now I can't stop listening to it. There isn't a bad song on the album, it's all so good.

Both colors on both sides split down the middle. Similar to this:

I wouldn't expect to see actual pictures for a while though.

Yeah, I wish they would just tell me if I'm getting one or not. Given the choice between nothing and black, I'd obviously be happy with black, but if I knew ahead of time I could at least try to get a purple copy from a store.

I guess I'm just hoping that enough people ordered multiple copies that will make my chances pretty good.

EDIT #2: I've listened to this a few times on NPR, and am really enjoying it. Much better than Boxer IMO. Regardless of what copy I end up with, I'm glad I decided to pick it up.
