  1. What transportation will you have. If you can get to Providence hit up Armageddon. Right up your alley.
  2. Yeah I spent some good coin this morning on this sale. I am sure I will hit up a few other locations by weekend-end and blow my life savings. Also worth mentioning that they had a bunch of free 7 inches too, I saw one by Beck and a bunch of other ones I didnt pay attention to, and also a free 12" Newbury Comics compilation, I forget who was on it, I think there was a sabbath track
  3. I know this style of music is outside of the norm for most people that post here, so forgive me, but as a vinyl collector I am floored by the quality of these releases and this is the best place I know of to spread the word and give these guys a plug since they deserve it. I recently ordered both releases this label has put out so far, Deadbird - Head and the Heart and Hail!hornet - S/T. They came yesterday finally and they are absolutely unbelievable. Both are hand numbered to 500, heavyweight vinyl (must be 180) and amazing gatefold packaging with alternate artwork for both releases! I will post pics if I get a chance. But if anyone is into this kind of stuff (Sludge/Stoner/Doom/Swamp whatever metal) you need to pick these up ASAP! Absolutely the nicest vinyl releases I have seen this year, save maybe Baroness and Precambrian. For fans of Rwake, Black Tusk, Baroness, High on Fire etc... Check this label out and support them because I can only hope they do well and keep pressing amazing vinyl! http://imbetterthaneveryonerecords.com/
  4. I talked to Drew from TL about this the other night. He ran through the colors with me that he planned to do, and I vaguely remember what he said. Either way he had just gotten the tests as well, and didnt finalize the covers yet, but he was planning on one being a half and half with the 2 colors from the artwork meaning a metallic silver with the blueish color and also one was a coke bottle blue with splatter, I forget the third, may have been clear but I forget.
  5. Yeah they pulled that on me once, not for a 7" necessarily but that same rule. It just depends how strict they want to be. Half the mailpersons at my local branch will do whatever you want and hook you up and the other half are by the book. Find someone more lenient if you can and they dont care. Also, if your post office has an automated postal center just do it all through that. Once you drop it in the mail no one is going to send it back just for that
  6. I went to this show the first night. What an amazing show, when Converge closed with Jane Doe I almost lost it.
  7. Don't know if any one else could be as bored as me and put together a list. But given that I go to shows quite often, I challenged myself to try to put together a list of who I have seen thus far in the calendar year. I also added a short list at the bottom of other shows I know I am going to before year end. Thought it could make a neat thread. I would like to compare lists if anyone else would like to add. Note: I am not posting this so one can argue about anothers musical tastes, etc. so don't rag on me for seeing bands you think suck Forgive me if there is another thread like this, this forum gets clogged pretty quick. The list: Abigail Williams The Acacia Strain x2 After The Burial Agraceful Animosity Arsis x2 Arsonists Get All The Girls As Blood Runs Black As I Lay Dying At The Gates August Burns Red Balboa Baroness Before Their Eyes Behemoth Big Business Blacklisted Blessed By A Broken Heart Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Born Of Osiris The Classic Struggle Complete Failure Converge x2 Darkest Hour x2 Despised Icon Disfear Eluveitie Embrace The End Emmure x2 The End Engineer Ensiferum Evergreen Terrace For The Fallen Dreams Full Blown Chaos Genghis Tron The Ghost Inside Giant Hate Eternal Have Heart Heaven Shall Burn Here I Come Falling Hull Impendnig Doom x2 Irepress Kataklysm Keep Of Kalessin Kylesa Lair Of The Minotaur A Life Once Lost Ligeia Melvins Meshuggah The Miles Between x2 Misery Signals x2 Motorhead Mouth Of The Architect Municipal Waste Murder By Death My Children My Bride Neurosis North The Ocean Old People On Broken Wings x2 Parkway Drive Pearl Jam Psyopus Recon The Red Chord Rosetta X2 Sea Of Treachery Shai Hulud Shipwreck Since The Flood Skeletonwitch Sleeping Giant x2 Soilent Green A Storm Of Light Stick To Your Guns Stray From The Path Ted Leo And The Pharmacists Through The Eyes Of The Dead Tides The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravanagza Trap Them Turisas Tyr xTyrantx Stick To Your Guns Unholy Verse Veil Of Maya Vital Remains Voyager Waking The Cadaver War Of Ages Winds Of Plague x2 Withered With Dead Hands Rising Scheduled: 1349 Aborted The Absence Amon Amarth Architects Belphegor Beneath The Massacre Between The Buried And Me The Black Dahlia Murder Carnifex Carcass Children Of Bodom Dying Fetus High On Fire Nachtmystium Necrophagist Obituary Opeth Rotten Sound Suffocation Unleashed
  8. Yes!! The best record store, ever. Especially for metal/hardcore stuff. They have a lot fo crust/punk too. The only other place I have been to in Prov. is the Newbury comics in the big mall down the road from there, also not a bad spot to check out.
  9. Indeed That is about how far away my Ikea is, and I didnt think twice about making the trek. Totally worth it. My only problem was that I made a trip out of it and stopped a bunch of times on the way to hit every record store and eat etc.. and ended up wasting so much of the day shopping for records that I got to Ikea as it closed and had to do it all over the next day. So if you make the trip dont get too distracted and make sure you check the hours before you go
  10. FINALLY It has been a long time coming. Heartache might be my favorite JESU release. Pale Sketches was kind of random, but I may as well get that too.
  11. He's got a club option, meaning the Dodgers can pick it up and pay him $20 next year or let him become a free agent. Sure, we'll give you a bag of balls. The reports are that the options had to be dropped as part of the deal, so he is officially a FA at the end of the year. But that can be an advantage to LA though given that when he signs elsewhere, if he does, they are entitled to a couple monster compensation picks if he walks. I am not familiar with the players LA gave up here, but trading them for 2 months of manny and 2 first round picks cant be bad.
  12. As of right now the Dodgers only get Manny and Bos only gets Bay Pittsburgh gets Andy Laroche from the Dodgers and Craig Hansen and Brandon Moss from BOS, also possibly a AA pitcher from LA.
  13. Manny has been traded...to the Dodgers
  14. just the T&N releases. TheSplinter Shards The Birth Of Seperation Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest Liberate Te Ex Inferis S/T nothing else is really worth bothering with. Splinter Shards already exists on Vinyl I think. But Parade Of Chaos could take its place if need be. I think that would be more appropriate to have a set of the albums since the "real" lineup came to be rather than the pre-Dan albums
  15. i'll give that dude credit, very solid drummer, great control and precision. TBYB is by far their best record, not really a fan though. off/on the subject. ZAO, don't press the ferret records, press a whole fucking box set. that would be the shit. I would commit terrible crimes to get a ZAO box set. I dont know if a true box set could exist though given that most of their releases were through Solidstate and the last 2 through Ferret. But a box set of the Solidstate releases should be do-able if Virgil did the Norma Jean one, and obviously he has the rights to any Ferret release as well, so we can hope. At the very least maybe we could get 2 different sets.
  16. yeah the drummer's voice was terrible. Which is why I can't stand their later albums when he takes a more prominent role, even going on to be the only "singer" on their most recent release. But his shrieks are tolerable on that record because there aren't as many, and the riffs are crushing and 1000 times better than anything they did since
  17. I Am. I just found out about these guys this year when they opened for the Neurosis Mastodon NYC gig. Awesome stuff
  18. By far the greatest Ferret release of all time is From Autumn to Ashes - Too Bad You're Beautiful. The band went to crap after that, but this is a hall of fame metal(core) [gasp!] album. Would probably have to warrant a 2xLP but is well worth it and I think would sell well.
  19. Call me crazy, but I can really picture Aaron Turner being awesome as a singer on an Isis tune
  20. Yeah that was the first one I tried, among others. Messina is either out of the office for the past month, or just ignoring me.
  21. I never received an order I placed back in March for the Rock Dream LP and some other shit. They wont reply to any of my emails to any email address that they have. These guys are a bunch of scumbags and I, for one, will never order from them again directly.
  22. https://www.southern.net/eu-shop/index.php?artists_id=1571&typefilter=artists_id&main_page=index
  23. This is exactly what I have been looking for in a site to start cataloging my shit... Now it is going to suck to input everything Thanks guys! awesome site!
  24. well then they lied. They did a second run of 500. 3 more colors, they have been on the relapse store for at least a couple weeks at this point.
