  1. I feel like maybe I posted this in here before but one lesson learned from me -- don't buy middle of the road stuff to put in your house. You'll eventually end up in a position something like "I really wish my fridge had an ice maker, but it works so why replace it." It's also a pain in the ass to deal with.

Go really cheap just to fill the house with stuff you will eventually easily replace (you can basically furnish an entire kitchen with plates, glasses, utensils, etc from the dollar store) or buy the nicest things you can realistically see yourself wanting as you can afford them. Stay out of the area in between.

  2. GF turned on Fuller House. Holy shit is that awful. One line followed by laugh track for 10 minutes straight until I made her turn it off. I always thought the Big Bang Theory got a little too much shit for the laugh track (I don't mind that show but quit watching a few seasons ago) but maybe I had blinders on.

Also, I think it has been mentioned before but New Girl is a really, really good show. It's dipped a bit in season 5 but the first 4 are gold. On the surface it looks like another crappy sitcom but it is really well written and very funny. Definitely something that most of the VC crowd would like if they gave it an honest try.

  3. Gotcha. Thanks.

I looked online and it looks like you get something sweet from Dead Orbit at level 25. I'm at level 10. Have a long way to go. I wasn't sure if I should switch up my allegiance but I guess not.

I should have read an overall primer on how to play this game before jumping in. I played for weeks without an allegiance chosen. I'd be a lot further if I had done that sooner.

  4. To a kid who has lived his whole life in Canada, American politics (presidential campaigns/races) is the funniest thing ever. With the dems, at least their debates are focused on real issues, and remain civil. But the GOP debates? Holy shit. How ANYONE can take any of those people seriously is beyond me. WAY fucking beyond me. It's like watching reality television. They walk onto the stage like it's wrestlemania or some shit, and proceed to yell and laugh at each other about nonsense for hours on end. It looks like immature children who constantly have to get the last word in. Then they say stupid shit like "We shouldn't have a president who doesn't begin his day with a prayer". blah blah blah...

If Trump is elected, would any of you actually consider moving to Canada? Or do you guys just say that?

I don't see Trump as that much worse than Bush and the country survived that, so no.

  5. hit me with that recipe. I've been craving some yogurt/granola

Warm up milk... It should be just warm enough that if you put your pinkie in to test temp, it should be comfortable. Add 2 tablespoons of store bought plain Greek yogurt. Stir for 20 seconds. Put lid on and cover with a blanket/ trowel. Let sit 4-6 hours min. When opened up, it should have a thick yogurt consistency. Chill in refrigerator.

  6. I know that wasn't directed at me but gonna give my 2 cents.

It's 80% what you eat. If you are 30+ pounds overweight, you don't even need to work out. It's far more important to focus on a healthy diet. You also run the risk if you go to the gym and sweat it out for 2 hours of coming home and throwing it away with unhealthy eating because your body is exhausted and craves nutrition. Half hour of light cardio is all you need for weight loss.

No drinking calories (pop, juice, alcohol, etc). If you like brewing, take a month or two off. Be the DD.

Keep a food log. Plan your meals, weigh them, and stick to the plan. It really helps to prevent opening a bag of trail mix, thinking you are going to eat a handful, and finishing half the bag.

Eat a diet that is heavily based on fruits and vegetables. A little olive oil won't kill you but don't be dunking things in ranch and frying them.

Those are all pretty basic things.
