  1. Saw them last night with Classics of Love(both killed it) and was hoping to pick up some red copies for people on the board. Unfortunately, they only had coke bottle, at least the one we looked at.

They also had the new record and I saw one guy with the sold out blue. I was tempted to buy another copy just because I don't have the ones I ordered yet and I am anxious to spin it. Considering I have a blue, pink, and test coming, I figured I just need to be patient.

JM has really improved from the older live clips I have seen on youtube. They have it all down now and the crowd is singing along.

If you get a chance to see them on tour DO IT!

How'd you get ahold of a test?

I sent a large chunk of money to Mike. Only 4 exist, so it was

    not economical.

  3. Is this going to be on black just like the first press? I already have the first press and this record is really frickin great. I wish it came with a dl code though.

Yeah I was told it's going to be exactly the same - Layout/Colour/Die-cut etc etc.

That's a bummer. They could have had suckers like me buy another copy.

Not sure why their tour with Loma Prieta is skipping the Bay Area considering Loma is from here.

  4. If you buy an extra copy of a limited edition anything and sell it an hour, a year, a decade from that day, you are flipping. Do I give a shit about flipping? No. It's definitely better to try and help people out with trades or close to cost sales, but trying to get more value out of a purchase is just the way it usually is and I am fine with that.

i know, right? look at the label, Mylene Sheath, putting up OOP records in their store for 2x the price it originally sold for. fucking flippers. :P

most of us in this thread are Mylene Sheath collectors, or at least regular buyers. i think we're allowed a certain level of crazy regarding flippers and the people looking to make a quick buck on tour presses.

I'm done with any more debate about flipping.

I do just want to say the geezfools did step up and sold me a copy of "Above the Earth..." for a more than fair price and I thank him for that. I will finally get to spin that record!

  5. Test Pressing: none

First Pressing: 300 black vinyl, 200 red w/ black swirls vinyl, 1000 ecopak CDs

Second Pressing: 300 black vinyl, 200 clear w/ black swirls vinyl

I have the clear/black which looks better than the red.

Arrrgh. Now I need to get that clear black? Where did you get it by the way. Also, is there a way to tell between the first press and the second press black?

I guess it's just ridiculous that you are so pissed off about this when you are doing it yourself. What a record is worth to you and what you're willing to sell it for is completely your business and your right. Getting mad about someone else doing it is just hypocritical.

In the end hopefully all of us collector losers will end up with one of these damn tour copies.

I had my one personal copy(on blue). I had one of each of that album. I sold the actual tour copy ages ago, but have held onto the two copies I bought when the album originally came out, the blue and the green, one of each. I didn't buy two copies and then the instant it sold out I put them on eBay, it's been what, almost two years since that album dropped?

I tried to explain how I felt about it. The flipping debate is stupid. You see it one way, I see it another way and every other person here sees it another way. Sorry we don't see eye to eye and you're upset about me not replying to your PM's. I've sent dude a personal apology for jumping on his shit without knowing what was up, his call if he is cool with it or not. If you're still looking for a copy, I'd gladly help you out. I honestly probably won't let go of the blue copy, the green, sure. Send a PM and I promise to reply tonight, I'll give you a fair price since I know you've been trying to get the album on vinyl.

Fair enough. Like I said, I hope we all get what we "need".

  7. This is all kinda funny that you are getting so pissed about some guy supposedly "flipping" when I offered you a solid $40 for your extra tour copy

of Above the Earth and you said it wasn't enough. So how long do you

have to wait before you call it flipping? I wanted a copy of that record and

you wouldn't even write me back to tell me how much over $40 you wanted

for it. I thought that was a little weak.

I had a guy in some crazy country offering me $85 for it, so I was waiting to see what was up. The whole flipping deal is a touchy subject. I mean, value is value, I get it. Some people care, some people don't. I feel weird when someone is trying to flip something a couple days after they get it from the label. I don't feel as weird if someone is trying to sell it a couple of months down the road. Is that weird? Probably. Did I want to sell that record for $40, ehhhh, I still don't know. That guy never came through and it's one of my favorite albums. (it wasn't the tour copy you were asking for, by the way). It's worth more than $40 to me. I do have the /300 version on green if you're still looking for a copy.

PS Dude, I'm shitty about replying to PM's. I read them on my phone while at work and by the time I put in my 8 hours and get home, the last thing I'm thinking about is a PM I got at 10am. I'm thinking about a glass of whiskey and the couch. It had no bearing on the record, you or price, it was me having a ridiculous memory...
