I am surprised these aren't gone already. A thousand is a lot, but with fans who just want the record, fans who want both colors, and people who bought more than one for the inevitable flippity it seems like the colored versions won't be around that much longer. I am just happy to have ordered my red copy.
Oh and +1 for the heads up!

I don't have mine in front of me, but I remember looking at the labels and thinking they looked fake. They look more stylized than other test pressing labels that I have seen. Maybe I just haven't seen tests from where
they got these pressed.

Hopefully the vinyl color is limited.
Why does it matter?
Also yeah I think these would look better translucent, especially the orange.
Well, this being a site made up of a lot of collectors, many like limited pressings. If this color were limited it would justify preordering way in advance and paying for shipping rather than just buying it later at a store.
Do we really have to go into this bullshit conversation again? Seems like every month some cooler than thou wad has to make some comment about someone being into limited or variant pressings.

Thanks for the Judgement Day video. Do you know what album those songs from?
Most of it is from "peacocks and pink monsters" which i think u can only get from their website www.stringmetal.com. They have self released everything theyve done so far.
Heres their store http://judgementday.bigcartel.com/
Wow, cool band. Looks like they're local for me too. I wish they'd do some vinyl pressings.

I'd sell the amp and buy some modern equipment. Vintage equipment is great, if you know how to rebuild stuff yourself or have a close friend go can. A lot can go wrong with 40 year old electronics.
Totally disagree with buying modern. Your Marantz is a sweet vintage receiver with great sound. If you find out it needs repair just do the research and find someone. It took me a while to find a good repair guy, but it was worth it.
Your receiver was built back when people actually kept their electronics for more than just a couple years. I have a 2245 and wouldn't trade it for any of the new landfill shit.

If someone gets the Hot Topic red version, please post a picture of it.
I really wish I got that red instead. It complements the artwork.
My mixed color still sounds great, but tempted by the red.

Hopefully the vinyl color is limited.

I hope they wait until next month. All of these over $20 preorders are killing me.
Sounds like it's going to be a nice reissue.

lucky enough to snag some pliny the younger and a pint of sculpin ipa habaneno
I was lucky(and determined) to drink lots of the Younger this year. The Elder is still my favorite every day beer, but I am already looking forward to next year's release.
Also, Hopocalypse by Drakes is very tasty for hopheads.

I'd really like to find God Is An Astronaut vinyl for a reasonable price.
I will answer myself... Go here http://eclipsicalrecords.storenvy.com/
Do not sleep on the God Is An Astronaut stuff. It's not easy to come by in the US.
Also want to spread the news that Mylene Sheath is going to be repressing If These Trees Could Talk. Right now I can only listen to it on cd :-/
-
Got mine. It took a while with refreshing and repressing buttons. In the end I have a feeling it will be really easy tomorrow, but I just wanted to get my order in.
-
Got mine and it sounds great. They could have gone through a little more trouble to justify
the high price for a large pressing of tests. I guess I have a sharpie and I can number it
myself "1/30"?
-
I wasn't that into this the first time I listened to it, but I gave it another try
yesterday and ended up buying it. From the songs I have heard, they really
sound like a lot of other current bands, but I like those bands so, what the hell.

I have many sheets in variant colors. I like to store them in custom made polyethelene protection sleeves and then place them in a shelving unit that I found at Ikea.
I don't actually use the sheets, but they look cool and sometimes I get them signed by the designer.

i need that beware of safety in my veins.... sucks that it's the first thing to go.
Sorry guys, posted this up as soon as I saw it so VC people could hit it. I was also hoping for If These Trees Could Talk, but I will be more than happy when they repress it. It's really inevitable.
-
Sheath just put up some more stuff by Junius, Beware of Safety etc...

Bring that shit to the Bay Area and many people would be there.
Anyone who lives in any of those cities should kick themselves in their nutsicles if they don't go.
-
I'm going to a secret record release of theirs tonight and can buy somebody one if they'd like. They'll have the 7" and LP.
Hopefully you got lucky at the Amoeba in-store tonight, but I was there earlier and they only had the green vinyl and the Hysteria 45. I would expect them to have the tour vinyl at their Gilman show.
-
I sure hope some of the smaller labels step up and announce some interesting things because
everything mentioned so far is boring as hell. I may just stay home this year.
-
West Coast shows - I would guess that we will play Seattle, Portland and Olympia or something like that at some point this year. Or maybe not. three of us became first time dads within the past 12 months, so that kind of changes your perspective on touring and out of town shows.
Lame answer, yes totally. But its something we talk about it, as we want to do a proper east coast run of dates, and NW and So Cal run again.
Well, how about an Oakland or SF show? That would be easy and easy for me to get to! I'm looking forward to hearing the new material.
-
Dororo just got added to streaming. Great movie.
-
AT LEAST 65 test presses. NICE.
Yeah, now I feel like even more of a derp for buying the pink "test press".
Fool me once...
