Finally getting reissued with album art instead of plain black sleeves!
http://musiconvinyl.com/catalog/erykah-badu/mama-s-gun#more
Mama's Gun is the second studio album by Neo Soul singer Erykah Badu, released in 2000. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, the album incorporates Funk, Soul and Jazz styles. Covering themes of insecurity, social issues and personal relationships, Badu delivered a highly intimate and personal album that reached Platinum two months after its release. Mama's Gun features substantial contributions from several members of the Soulquarians outfit, of which Badu was a member. It also features guests such as soul singer Betty Wright and trumpeter Roy Hargrove.
The album contains the single "Bag Lady" which, with its colorful, artsy music video, shot to #1 on the R&B charts, and also into the Top 10 on the billboard charts. "Bag Lady" was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and for Best R&B Song. Also the song "Didn't Cha Know?" was nominated for Best R&B Song.
Rolling Stone magazine applauded her for taking "chances the way Stevie Wonder or Nina Simone did in their prime" and went on to say "she has taken her art to the next level." Entertainment Weekly called the album a "'70s soul homage featuring live musicians and a smooth-funk sound that wouldn't be out of place on a CTI record."

Went a little crazy on vacation in the states..
Classic titles were a dollar for the most part. Filled some serious holes in the collection with those scores.
Managed to squeeze 'em all onto a carry-on that I had to pretend was light as a feather.

Saw the post as well. All I remember is that it had a black label, green translucent vinyl (if I remember correctly.. was pretty hammered when I saw it) and some reference to Tony Iommi on the label. Remember looking for label info but didn't see any indicator. That sucks! Does anyone have any clue what label will be putting it out or which webstore will be posting it for purchase?

Splatter! Can't believe I'll finally be owning this.. Been after it since day 1 of collecting.

Tough one. Pretty much everything Sparhawk from Low has churned out has pulled a few heartstrings. Call it blind hometown patriotism, but damn that dude can write.

"You're so pretty I could puke. Stahp!"
"Stahp!"
"OMG I wish I had your face!"
"Ugh I'm so fucking ugly in this pic, take it down!" *1 of 1245345 photos taken before uploading
and basically everything said on Myspace, ever.

Pretty sure I made a thread for this shitpile. White Power Metal. In case you thought power metal was ridiculous enough from before.

B.B. King threw a bunch of bling into the crowd when saw him about 10 years ago. Have a ring tucked away somewhere.

The record shop I work at got the news that we're in danger of going bankrupt after being in business since 76 and are holding a benefit concert on Saturday to see if we can gather the troops to avoid the worst case scenario. Decided it was as good a time as any to get my first tatt along with a colleague of mine to coincide with the event. Super stoked on how it turned out! Added the few drops of blood since we literally bleed for the place.
Viva Apollon!

Did some blackpacking in Oslo this weekend and checked out Neseblod records that recently moved into the old Helvete storefront run by Euronymous from Mayhem back in the day. They opened up the basement where they took their promos, and like the trve nerd I am had to snap a selfie. Selfies are metal as fvck.

Back in the early nineties I sold my collection of close to 150 thrash and death metal records because I was "getting too old for metal" (how young and naive I was to believe such a thing) and also because I needed some funds to get with the times and finally acquire a CD player. I got 3000 NoK for the lot, about 500 bucks, which is less than $3.5 a piece. Among the records was this one:
A copy sold on the bay a few months ago for more than 3000 bucks.

Preorder info awaits!
FINALLY.

My Reckless order had apparently not gone through even though I received a reference number due to high traffic on the website. Sent a message a bit after ordering and their customer service managed to track down the last copy. (whew) Charged and en route! Great success.

I was late to the game as well so I placed an order with Reckless for 36.99. I'll be willing to sell to a board member as well if I get both.
