  1. im a west coaster and i am anxiously awaiting this.
  2. ill give them that much but every time i get a record stuffed in a priority mailer i cringe.
  3. coalesce is awesome but seriously ...10 dollars for a 7 inch after shipping? no thanks...
  4. im of the more recent opinion that merchnow is sketchy and/or just flat out stupid. i ordered an item from them which ended up being out of stock. they emailed me and asked to either replace the item, wait for the item to come back in stock, or cancel. i email back and tell them to cancel (most likely what they didnt want to hear) the order and refund my money. so i wait for a response. and i wait. and i wait a little longer.... finally i decide to call them. i explain the situation. they refund me my money through paypal but of course do it incorrectly so that when the money came back to me i actually LOST money to have them tell me an item that they advertisted was in stock was actually out of stock. irritating beyond belief. its not that i care about whatever the amount was but rather that it shouldnt of even happened in the first place if they had issued a refund as a opposed to just sending me money via paypal. so i email them back, explain to them they dont do paypal refunds correctly and that itd be nice to have have my full refund. no response. im thoroughly convinced i wouldnt have even got my first refund had i not called them as clearly it is far too tasking and difficult for them to answer an email. little do they know i could just as easily open a paypal claim and probably receive double my money back for their own stupidity...
  5. granted i dont have this record, i just dont see the hype on this one--especially for its price. if it was totally new doomriders/boris material, id be all over it. but really to me, this is just rehashing songs in which id rather just listen to the studio versions of. im sure itll have a great resale value on ebay though.
  6. ill admit theres some stuff in there that doesnt belong in the article (like his rock star theory, the apocalypse now quotes, or the mentioning that tony doesnt own a bulldog), but at the core of whats written--which is the accused insanity of tony brummel... its pretty damn interesting and not at all suprising. everyones been hearing it for years--this just reaffirms it. i know theres two sides to every story but it seems to me you really cant make this stuff up and thats whats scary. its too bad he even still has a few decent bands left.
  7. i had to watch about 3 or 4 curb your enthusiasm episodes to really "get it" but once it clicked, i thought it was genius comedy--obviously with my larry david avatar. seinfeld was obviously a sitcom format and so i think its more digestable at least in comparison to curb your enthusiasm which takes the neuroticism and subtle nuances of awkward social situations that george would find himself in on seinfeld and runs with it. if you love george costanza, you'll love curb your enthusiasm. with that said, both shows are obviously great and i dont even know if i could pick between the two if i had to choose what i prefer.
  8. seinfeld is amazing--no way i could pick a favorite. im also obsessed with curb your enthusiasm.
  9. everyone should read the article posted at this link. it was written by an ex-VP of victory records. ill admit its lengthy, but very interesting. tony brummel sounds insane. http://board.vivalavinyl.org/?func=topic&id=26643&r=33
  10. i dont think i could ever stick one of my records in the oven either. i have put a few warped records underneath a stack of a few old college books and it seemed to help but wasnt a total fix. im paranoid about leaving my records outside in the heat since i live in az and thatd probably do more damage than good.
  11. lots of stuff on the way to me.. STILL waiting for my cursed - one repress along with... the format - dog problems graf orlock/greyskull split - clear torche - in return 10" - clear w/ planets pygmy lush - bitter river - red/yellow hot cross - risk revival - orange eighteen visions - vanity - pic disk mewithoutyou - brother sister - white im still contemplating whether or not i want to preorder the new coliseum and i am anxiously awaiting the following... pelican - city of echoes mewithoutyou - a-->b life mewithoutyou - catch for us the foxes isis - panopticon 2xlp repress
  12. i think id like this record a whole lot more without those horrible godsmack-ish choruses.
  13. mono - waking cloud & deep red sky maybe its just me but i think this is an incredibly underrated record as i never hear anyone talk about it. so good though.
  14. ordered gray! totally love this band. the euro color schemes i think are a lot cooler (so tired of red records) but i dont really feel like paying the euro prices. either way, cant wait for this record...
  15. lol, i wouldnt buy anything from abacus at this point seeing as how they are closing down. i can just see someone buying something from them and never getting it. speaking of ion dissonance, garden of exile in europe is doing the new album on vinyl.
  16. http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=114130&
  17. get those graf orlock lps as well. total awesomeness.
  18. ive never had a problem with them but lots of people complain about them.
  19. the 100 on clear is something relapse does for every record they put on vinyl. theyre just for members of the band, relapse staff, friends of the band i assume, etc. if you dont fall into these catagories, then the only way i know of getting one is buying it from someone who does get one and thatll probably be on ebay.
  20. i kind of wish i would have bought that record--at the time, just wasnt feeling the 27 dollar price tag or whatever it was. oh well.
  21. relapse loves to just squeeze those extra couple dollars out on those lps!
