I saw this a while ago. The 2 theaters near my parents house always had $5 movies Sunday-Tuesday. But now that I'm in San Francisco and movies are $12.50(!!) I will definitely be picking one of these up.

It's a cool box! BUT, truthfully, I hate this album. It may be the most boring album ALK3 has ever put out. And I'm a HUGE Alkaline Trio fan. 

I talked to Chad Gilbert at their first chain reaction live recording show a couple of months ago (before he was electrocuted on stage). I asked about catalyst and coming home. He said catalyst is probably going to be released next year but he didn't know much about coming home. He said he was trying to work on some kind of "pop up" design for the jacket.

asked a friend who was at the Pomona date tonight if they had any tour variants, he said they had nothing. Take that for what it's worth I guess.

I was there last night also. I showed up late and they didn't have the new record so I just assumed they sold out of whatever they brought to the show. I didn't see anyone walking around with any so maybe they didn't have any at all.

Soooo if they're selling this at shows right now, why don't they just ship the pre-orders out early? I've been waiting to listen to it until I get the record, but if I can find a quality rip of it I may not wait any longer...

The rip I have is TERRIBLE. I listened once and deleted it. I'm also waiting to have my physical copy.

So the tour copy is just the white (/2000) and the white/purple (/1000) with a slip cover? I bought Watermelon last pre order so I may just buy the tour copy for the slip cover and put it on the watermelon variant once it comes in and sell the white or white/purple I get tonight.

It was pricey as balls, if it makes you feel any better.  I ended up settling for a standard copy off Amazon for $17 or so.  The black isn't quite as snazzy as that teal, but it sounds fantastic.

I'm glad the black sounds good. I'll be picking it up eventually.

I fucking wish I knew this band back when this pre sale went up. I've been obsessed with this album. It'd be nice to have the deluxe version. 

All kinds of crazy stuff. I'm not sure about why their label name is removed. I'm sure it mainly has to do with the larger label owning the actual music (due to their original deal with MCA). To include the Drive Thru logo might mean Drive Thru would get a cut of the vinyl sales...which if they aren't entitled to any money I'm sure Geffen isn't hurting to give them any (that's only an assumption though). I have a great statment saved in a word file made from the Reines as well as one from Midtown about the rocky relationship between those two. I'd be more than happy to PM it to you if you want to read that. Crazy stuff. There is actually some stuff about Finch in the Midtown statement the Reines made.

I like the way the inside gatefold was done for this. Looks really cool. I don't know if it was brought up yet, but I noticed the absence of the Drive Thru logo on the back from the images on Hot Topic. I know for reasons of ownership the Drive Thru logo has been taken off a few presses from the label. I'm somewhat nostalgia driven with releases like this and I always miss the logo being on the artwork.

Alright, I was out of the loop when drive thru records became shitty. Can someone explain what happened? Or post a link?

I was thinking the same thing. I remember the cover art on the cd not looking perfect but I don't remember if it was this bad. Oh well! I've given it a listen and it sounds good!!
