Yeah, I haven't used URP since 2008 for a reason. I'm amazed by how weak their records are. Nice people though. It's too bad as I live relatively close to them. And yes, damn Deep Elm.

Deep Elm has asked me to do this many times. Not interested in working with DE again so I've passed. As a few last ditch efforts I've made DE offers to re-release the full Appleseed back catalogue on vinyl/cd but what they are asking for is INSANE. So fuck it.

time to stop outsourcing! press American! haha Ha! I actually use a ton of American companies. Just depends on what each band wants. And more and more bands are wanting specifically crazy vinyl that GZ specializes in. Historically I've tried to use Stoughton as much as possible for the packaging even if I'm going GZ.

They look frickin sweet! So excited as I've been waiting for what seems like years. The first 100 I just hand-numbered came with no seam splits so that's positive. If I had to complain? Ha! I actually tried to not fold them but instead loosely tuck them around the vinyl. Guess that trick doesn't result in an unscathed poster? Sorry mate. Thanks for your support though!

Yeah, I go for the "thick as shit" I believe. I sent him some photos. Problem is, it's multiple orders from multiple shipments. Yikes!

I have some bad news. Well, not really, just a horrifying observation. I got a box of the new Hospital Ships LPs in this afternoon and as I was packing them up for retail, I noticed that almost every single copy had a very slight seam split at the same spot as that photo I showed you earlier. Some worse than others. Has anyone else had this issue with the new Pirates Press jackets? They changed them recently. The appear to be thicker and almost like they have 3 spines (thickness wise). I've never gotten so many seam splits from a manufacturer directly and this is the same jacket I used for Middle States (as well as 3 other new releases!). I'm freaking out.

Cool! I didn't know anyone would actually buy that sort of thing. I always have a fair amount of damaged packaging with fine records. Perhaps I'll make a cheapie section for them.

I didn't ship out any copies that I noticed had splits. I might throw them up online for a couple bucks though to get rid of them - Temporary Residence style.

Awesome! And totally not awesome. What would create the seam-split if the vinyl was removed from the packaging? Just the packaging moving about in the package?? Didn't even know that was possible! I'd offer another copy but I have nothing. Does it look like the attached photo? If so, I must've missed it. There were 2 full boxes from the manufacturer that were split. Yikes!

For those who haven't gotten a shipping confirmation, here's the deets: Looks like I'll definitely have the rest of the vinyl in my paws no later than next week so they'll still hit you earlier than the street date.
