  1. Glad these are a hit. We're excited that they'll see the light of day again on vinyl... and I'm looking forward to the next 4 as well! It was actually kind of a nightmare for a few of these... some of the old art files had gone missing over the years, and there was a big scavenger hunt for them. Art files for Every Day and Every Night ended up being on an ancient "Jaz" disc that had to be sent off to this data recovery place for retrieval. We were almost out of luck for that title... We'll be listing these all on Discogs, along with information about these pressings that differs from the originals (if you're a nerd about pressing differences like I am). Here's the one for Oh Holy Fools: http://www.discogs.com/Son-Ambulance-Bri....elease/34 13327 Mostly the same as the first pressing, but a few tweaks to the track listing on the jacket, type on the insert, and the center labels. Of course this one is 180gm and the original was standard weight, which is the most obvious difference. If anyone has the first pressing to compare, you'll see the jacket has very slight differences in some of the colors. The yellows and reds mainly. This was due to the printer (Stoughton) switching from film to direct-to-plate process. They weren't able to replicate the colors exactly.
  2. I just go into the preferences and uncheck "gays", "transgendered", "bisexuals", "cross-dressers", "socialists", and "single and/or working mothers". No more problems.
  3. Ah, okay. That's different than where I was doing it. Thanks for the tip. I sell a lot on ebay, and most international transactions have gone off fine. But the handful of problems I've had have been Italy, Mexico, and Indonesia... and I'm more wary now that sellers can't leave negatives for buyers.
  4. You need to create an exclusion list when listing the item. You kind of have to go out of your way to do it but it's there under the shipping options. Exclude every country you don't want it shipped to, it that will prevent them (in most cases) from being able to bid with accounts registered to those countries. In the shipping details area, I went in and checked only the boxes for exactly which countries I will ship to. And ebay still allows bidders to win my auctions that are not in these places. I guess that's not the right place to set these preferences? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I only set it to North America, UK, Germany, and Japan, and I had a guy from Thailand win something. And to the people asking why you don't just ship anywhere and require registered shipping? It's because ebay and paypal always side with the buyer if the item doesn't show up in a reasonable amount of time. So if it's stuck for 6 weeks in customs, or lost in the terrible Italian post, I'm out my record and my money. I'd rather get less money and not ship to those countries.
  5. The 10" is the first picture disc I've ever owned & it surprisingly sounded really good. I guess they were able to get fairly high fidelity or something for what it is. Our 10" from the bundle was done at Erika. That 12" picture disc was made somewhere in the UK, not sure where. No idea what it will sound like. Glad the 10" sounds good! My expectations for those are usually pretty low.
  6. Thanks man! It's a tough call... some people love the variants, others hate them. I guess we're kind of middle of the road. We do some variants and exclusives, but I don't think we go overboard. Depends on the band too.... some of the bands ask us to do limited stuff and some don't want it. That thread on the Jack White tri-color 7" freaked me out. I'd never want to get into shit like that. Seems like it's a bummer for the label and the fans, at least to some extent.
  7. That would have been cool. But we didn't want to make anyone feel compelled to buy all six reissues if they didn't think they needed them. Basically the band just wanted them back in print in a simple, straightforward way. I couldn't argue with that, although I do like special pressings personally.
  8. They're going to go out on schedule, sorry. Not sure of the details but it would make things really screwed up in order world.
  9. We got 10 into the Saddle Creek shop. We had people waiting outside, and they were sold out right away. I'm glad I don't collect Third Man stuff, it sounds kind of brutal and demoralizing
  10. By the way, 30 top bundles left. I'm guessing these will be gone some time over the weekend.
  11. We're looking into why Insound's price is so high. We are wondering if it's a mistake. List for that is $27.98. Their price for Cursive's "I Am Gemini" is basically list, so I don't know why they'd mark up Bright Eyes so much. We tried to keep the list prices for these as low as possible... but 2LP from RTI on 180gm in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold is damn expensive. The $37.98 price from Insound was a mistake. It's fixed now.... $27.98. http://www.insound.com/A-Collection-of-Songs-Written-and-Recorded-LP-Bright-Eyes/P/INS103879/
  12. you def. should have gotten a poster. Sorry about that! Go to the "contact" link at saddle-creek.com and let Nate know. He'll fix it for you.
  13. It will only be available in this package. It's possible the tracks could some day be released on something else, but the 10" picture disc is exclusive to this bundle.
  14. Yeah but having it in the box set was different. The sleeve was smaller & all that. I'd much rather have this version. For what it's worth, this one is 180 gram and RTI instead of Erika. We thought about using the original artwork, but decided against it since many people haven't seen the original LP art and we didn't want to confuse anyone. Plus we thought that old design was cool for what it was, as a hand done silk screen... but it didn't necessary translate well to a printed jacket. Don't forget that vinyl prices have gone up a lot since we issued those box sets. If we were going to sell that today, even on standard weight from Erika, it wouldn't be $35 at this point. Sucks, but our costs have gone way up, not even taking inflation into account. But we're not expecting anyone to feel like they have to shell out for records all over again if they own them in the box set. We (and the band) just wanted to make them available again in a quality pressing.

  16. The 10"s were complete randomized in the shipping boxes. It was totally random who got what number, and didn't correlate to when you placed your order. Erika wanted to charge us extra to have them in numerical order, so we skipped it. Roll of the dice...
  17. Man, I had over 200 LP mailers, most used only once, from records I bought. I sold stuff too, but bought way more than I sold. I listed them on Craigslist free section... just hoping they would get used by someone. After the EIGHTH person was a no-show to pick them up, I just put them in the recycling. I hate throwing usable stuff away.
  18. Want it all bundles are starting to get low... less than 50 left as of this morning. Orders picked up after our newsletter went out.
  19. Mine still says order placed. Could that be because it's on the same order as the Bright Eyes vinyl? Nevermind, I was wrong! If you ordered the FULL 6 album Bright Eyes bundle, your Gemini order *will* ship now. It won't wait for the 1st two Bright Eyes LPs to ship on the 21st. If you ordered just ONE or TWO of the re-issues, anything else in the order will have to wait until the 21st.
  20. Mine still says order placed. Could that be because it's on the same order as the Bright Eyes vinyl? EDIT: I was wrong, see post below.
