  1. I use AudioKarma to check out my garage sale and resale shop finds. There is usually a thread there telling if its worth listening to or not. A couple of weeks ago I found a nice Marantz receiver at a sale for $5. Sounds so much better than the Pioneer I was using, even my wife can tell!
  2. I've got a friend making this one for me http://www.soundfountain.com/amb/puck.html
  3. Fat Sick and Nearly Dead was great. My wife and I have switched our diet to an alkaline based one. We juice carrots, cukes and celery for breakfast and lunch and eat a reasonable dinner. Tonight I grilled some chicken after marinating it in a Balsamic/ Olive Oil/ Red Wine mix and added the chicken to a big azz salad with the same mix on it. Love it, never any leftovers. We cut out coffee, but that is only temporary while we purge toxins. We enjoy it too much to give up forever. We are otherwise drinking water, Kombucha and hot tea. Even my 17 year old daughter is onboard with this, so I think anyone can do it. I had to eat at BK a week ago while I was out working with a friend and it was just nasty nasty nasty. I am so glad I am not living on that crap anymore. I can't afford health insurance or health care, but I can change my diet to help prevent needing them.
  4. I don't own any of their stuff yet, but I really like all of the music I have heard from Holy Fuck out of Toronto. Can keyboard driven be post-rock?
  5. This album sounds great on vinyl, especially since this is a total re-mix of the original. Now there is a bass guitar in the mix! So much better than the original CD.
  6. I wish you had Letterbox. Did that ever get pressed?
  7. This showed up on my newsfeed a few minutes ago. "Reckless on Milwaukee Ave will have A VERY LIMITED quantity of the tri-color Jack White 7" on Third Man at opening (10am) tomorrow. We are treating this like a Record Store Day release. First come, first serve. No holds. Good luck!"
  8. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about people that make vegan/vegetarianism into a religion.
  9. I'm definitely looking forward to being in control of my diet more when I move out to Detroit this month. We'll be doing much of our weekly shopping at Eastern Market, which will be especially nice when the local farmers start bringing their stuff out.
  10. Religious reasons I have no opinion over, or at least I will try not to unless they claim to have the same religious persuasion as me and are implying that I am somehow in error for not following their diet. It's difficult to argue religion with people in a productive manner, and if someone thinks "God" is "calling" them to not eat meat for whatever reason I have to let them answer that "call." On a personal and opinionated level, I think that not eating meat as way of protest or to express care for animals in general is a weak reason to risk your health and guide your life. By risk your health I am speaking of vegetarians I have known that know nothing of eating healthy and live on a diet of french fries, potato chips and mozzarella sticks. I should also note that I am suffering from a dry socket from a wisdom tooth extraction last week and am hopped up on Vicadin, so I probably shouldn't be posting at all! Please forgive my lack of inhibition.
  11. I have little regard for those that are vegans/vegetarians out of conscience, but full respect for those that choose the diet for health reasons.
  12. I just bought The Brothers Martin from this seller a couple of weeks ago and everything went fine.
  13. I've got an Al Hirt collection I've been thinking of parting with.
