Thanks all. feels daaaaamn good to do this. looking back now, i wish i had changed the thread title with maybe a brief description. sorry about that.
@selfreliable, here is my list of things: (excellent question)
1. ring salvation bells for 4 hrs a day over the weekend. (it was bitterly cold here in KS, so i paid dearly for that one)
2. gather up cans for our local harvesters. i offered a "can for a can" where i would match a beer per canned good. obvi i did this with friends and family at a function and not just a random spot where i would hand out beer. good news is that word got out and i got friends of friends of friends who came and donated.
3. volunteered at a local church to help pack up/pick up food for local families. i think it was called 'angel drive' or something like that. drove about an hour away, loaded up 4 minivans of food and put them in baskets that people brought through the line.
4. drove around the bad parts of KC delivering bags of clothes to kids in my sisters class. she teaches in downtown KC, mostly spanish speaking school (our lady of guadalupe) and they literally have nothing. i drove up to their houses, ran up. knocked on door and ran. this seems dangerous thinking about it. saw some pretty bad situations.
5. the VC record thingy!!
the following are next up on list:
6. my wife works at nursing home and they always need help. will go in soon and do some kind rearranging furniture in rooms and heavy lifting there. i hope to chat it up with some old timers.
7. helping the local DAV (disabled american veterans). people donate things in a spot outside and its just stacked and piled with no real order to things. ill move the heavy things like TVs, couches, etc. inside and see what else they need.
8. this year im buying a goat for a woman. my sister in law wanted this as a gift last year to donate and i liked the idea. http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?section=10401&item=1445884
still thinking of the next two.

Nope. You don't have to do anything.

I've been extremely blessed and fortunate this year and I strongly believe in karma. I've decided to do a few small things here and there for strangers and this will be number 5 on my list of 10 things I wanted to do. I know I'm fairly new here, but please here me out as I think it can be pretty fun. Here's what I've come up with:
I will buy anyone on this board $50 worth of vinyl of their choice. Nothing costs you a dime. Not even shipping. My only stipulations is that it's not from ebay. Could be your favorite label or distro and can be multiple items totaling no more than $50. Details and links of what you want will be settled through PM.
If you are interested, just reply in this thread and ill use a random name generator to pick a winner. Contest ends this Sunday at midnight CST. Obviously only one submission per person and if you board veterans know of multiple names or socks, please let me know.
I just ask that in return you try to do something for someone, I don't care how large and small.

I got a copy I'd part with. PM me if you wanna work out details.

Man. This is a tough one. I listen to so many different styles but to sum up it goes a little something like this: (these bands are the foundation)
NWA - straight outta Compton. First tape I ever owned.
Slayer, iron maden, gnr.
Greenday - dookie
Live - mental jewelry
Nirvana, STP, dinosaur jr, Alice in chains, PJ.
Siamese dream changed my life forever.
Now I'm into post rock and shoegaze. Go figure.
-
Considering going vegetarian. Question for you all who have made the switch to go meatless. Do you feel a difference?
-
Mine was nirvana in '93. I was 12 or 13.

Alright, I'm really at a loss here.
I've been dating this girl since August. Super shy, but so am I. Things have moved at turtle pace. I'm talking I didn't even get a kiss until last month.
Last night we were texting into the wee hours of the night (I work overnight shifts anyhow) and there were definite sexual undertones to the conversation (it dealt mainly with massages and the like). So I was extra pumped for our date tonight. I went over her place and we watched Lawless, then were just chilling on the couch. We have become pretty comfortable with each other in regards to touching and whatnot the last few weeks. She was laying on me and I had my arm around her, and my other hand was on her upper thigh. I was moving my hand up and down her thigh, stopping at the line of her shorts. (They were these little shorts, like a cross between jeans and pajama shorts? goddamn they were hot.) After a couple minutes she starts placing my hands further and further up her legs. After a couple minutes of that, I convinced myself that she really WAS trying to tell me to put my hand down her shorts. What the hell else could she be trying to tell me? I start by caressing her lower hip and stomach area. So far so good. I then reach my fingers just into the edge of her shorts - we're still good. I could feel the heat and tension building. After about a minute of trying to angle and position my hand so I can actually get it down the front of her shorts (they were still buttoned and they weren't really stretchy) I got my hand down. Then she immediately tugged my hand out. We both kinda repositioned and sat/laid together for another half hour or so until I left. Not a word was mentioned about it.
I don't know what to make of it... I'm just really confused about the whole thing. It might not seem like the biggest deal, but I'm so into this chick it's ridiculous. She's adorable, beautiful, funny, intelligent, an artist... The real deal.
(since quoting, as we all know isnt working, ill just change the color of original post)
perhaps she was on her period and didnt want to mention it but rather just remove your hand. girls know guys dont like to hear that shit.

thats still a decent machine (and i believe it has a LOT of life left)...but in this case i dont think youd be able to get more than 500 for it. (if youre lucky)
I currently have one from that age range too and also a macbook pro and i NEVER do hardware updates...as i dont really care to. im not missing much if i dont IMHO.
id sell the thing and get you that PC. your PC will be up to date on current operating system and everything else in that aspect as far as technology has advanced since then.

Man. I really want that porcupine tree.
-
Facebook. He took a pic of them and kinda offered them up for sale. Only 4 exist. I emailed him but just missed out. Luckily a good buddy of mine from the boards and I worked out a deal and I ended up with it.
-
Just snagged a test press of this.
-
Top 3 threads on the board. Hands down. I LOVE reading it.
-
Is this the memoryhouse you offered earlier that is signed?
-
Also, will these be shipped out in a mailer? The Canadian shipping option said it will be shipped in an envelope.
You should see if they have a Canadian bacon option.
-
I do love this group. I have a kickstarter question. ( not familiar with it) if the goal is not reached nothing will be released?
-
Got the fest and a test. Both treasured.
The store is solid and you'll get your order.
