  1. Angel City Books and Records worth checking out in Santa Monica. Ride the strand on your bike. If you do it on the weekend it will be extremely packed. Nearby in Mars Vista, there is a pretty sweet community run bike repair shop called Bikerowave and across the street from their a place called LA Brakeless that is exclusively fixed gear if you are into that. I think its Wednesdays the Promenade does a giant farmers market that is definitely worth checking out.
  2. I would check out a lowes or a home depot. I used to work a landscaping job and I had to get glass cut a few times there. I can't remember the exact price but it was definitely cheaper than 45. They also had different types of clear plastics and such that you could get cut which I assume is even cheaper. Good luck and hope this helps.
  3. Since a few people seem interested, someone on Etsy is selling cork slipmats for 12 bucks which is the cheapest I have seen them. http://www.etsy.com/listing/98574710/cork-antistatic-turntable-slip-mat?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=cork+slipmat&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_search_type=handmade
  4. So excited about this release. Just realized today that Djom is my most played song on itunes.
  5. I wonder how limited "very" is going to be. Also, I hope the money from this goes into him making the next Cassino record. The Rose of Lee is easily one of my favorite Cassino songs.
  6. amazing! I wonder when Neil will release his solo stuff. I LOVE 106 South, so if the songwriting is anything like that, that album would probably blow both BK and Sundowner out of the water. Wow, I never realized that was Neil singing that song. I love the "Watching Simpsons/afraid to call you" line. Has he sung any other Larry Arms songs?
  7. I heard he even put up fliers of the cat after he took it home just in case the owner might see it. I say you did the right thing.
  8. Yeah, nice catch. I finished a Salinger Biography the other day before I made this account so it was on the mind. Also one of my favorite short stories. You a fan? I guess since I'm now on infamous post #2 I'll introduce myself as well. I've read this board for about a while, but just decided to sign up and talk back. Been collecting records since for about 8 years and moved out to LA a few months ago. The last record I bought was Why? - Eskimo Snow. -drew
  9. Somebody get this new guy out of here. Am I right?
