Last weekend I had a beer (technically barley wine) called behemoth from three floyds brewery. It was real good but real pricey $20 a bottle, yikes. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26/4810

Hell yes that album is so good. That still gets somewhat regular rotation for me. -
What's your favorite album of 1998?
jpw replied to scottheisel's topic in Everything Else Message Board
this probably influenced a lot of people to not like Bad Religion agreed, I love BR but this album... well lets just say we pretend it didn't happen. -
in the same vein but slightly different. cutting in to a cd to make it play on a turntable http://www.boingboing.net/2008/05/09/using-a-recordcutter.html

Rather boring like most others, but here is a little spin around my cube. Notice the red stapler , it's actually a steel swingline not a cheapy plastic one. Also rockin' the name plate action.

I imagine the ones near campus are probably like a tailgate party.

yes I did this and yes I do own multiple macs. It was mostly for the fun and challenge. If you just google for hackintosh you'll find all the info you'll need. It basically comes down to the hardware you are working with, wether its "compatible" aka is it the same stuff that's in the real macs. Suprisingly there is a little more wiggle room here than you'd think. But if you just want to try it out to see if you can do it and to see what its like I suggest doing the install on a second harddrive so you don't have to A) blow away your window installation just in case you don't like it. and you don't have to mess with setting up dual booting, unless you are comfortable with that. good luck, have fun.

word thanks for the heads up.

Just to stir up the pot a little more, lets not forget about the Clash getting involved with the early hip hop scene in the 80s.

Anybody use Delicious Library to catalog vinyl?
jpw replied to northernfailure's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
you can make it work, just not quite as automatic as some of the other things delicious monster does. What I did was just locate the cd in amazon, then edit the format to LP or EP (as appropriate) and it'll change the image it has on the "shelf" to a record instead of a CD. Or if you're lucky and the sleeve has a barcode and it is actually found on amazon it'll add it to your library like everything else. and of course there is the spreadsheet route, if you want to keep it local to your mac you can use 'numbers' the newish apple spreadsheet app. Or the open office spreadsheet app which is free. If you are ok using internet resources then you got the google spreadsheets or one of the record list websites. Personally I use whats in my sig. -
I'm not sure how rare it is, but I do know I see it consistently go for $30 and up on ebay. On many different colors.

The closer to present day you get the more "rock n' roll" the sound becomes. meaning less of the folky sound they have on their earlier records like RAR

I've been developing a new record list site. Its still in a private testing phase, but if you'd like to give it a spin pm me. It supports importing from a CSV(comma seperated) or TSV(tab seperated) file. Also supports exporting anything you've entered as a CSV so you can move your data around easily. As well as some nice sorting features.
