Fuck labels that do that many test's. It completely defeats the purpose of them, and the "special" sentiment of getting a test press from a band you really love. It's nothing more than a greedy cash grab. Test presses on average cost a buck a piece. There is no keeping a label from pressing 100 of em. I've never done more than 10 on any release. For some reason I have a Moral Crux test numbered /15, but it was a boo boo and is actually /10. 10 is a good amount to press so you can give 5 to the band, and hang on to a few of em, give away a few in random orders. Labels that sell test presses for crazy amounts of money, for a new release test suck. Every newer label nowdays(and even some older ones) seems to be out for quick money, whatever it takes, kickstarter, licencing a major release, charging more for certain colors/variant. It's almost like integrity doesn't exist's nowdays.

Not quite sure what that's implying? But both are fantastic bands, they're good friends, to the point of almost being family, they're from the same scene, they did a regional tour together, they are touring again together. They both have great new tracks/albums. They are both active, and in my opinion two of the best New England bands to come out. So yeah I think that it is a great idea. Wasn't my idea, but I am really stoked to put it out, and the songs are the best I've heard in a very long time.

Well you only have to pay for one side of mastering, and plating is only one side also, that cuts your setup cost in half. Seems like it equals out and a one sided LP ends up being only a tad bit more than a double sided 7". But yeah the packaging and shipping cost's I guess kind of void out the saved money. I was curious how a 1 sided 10 or 12 would be recieved. I have a 10.5 minute record, me and a band have been pondering whether to cut one of the 2 minute tracks off, and doing a 7" at 4:30 or so per side, or doing a one sided LP. I know how picky people are nowdays, and whether they would feel jipped by having a blank side. But's it's also a metal record, and 10 minutes on a 45 12" would be nice and loud! As opposed to a quieter 7". But yeah, jesus christ, 12 minutes per side on a 7"! I can't imagin that sounds much better than a flexi or something. I can imagine the needle just skating across the side, with such thin grooves. nuts

all music is cool, but the stupid talk about color variants and crap like that is what's annoying. i wish labels were more like they use to be.. they made color variants and if you ordered a record, maybe you got lucky with a different color. maybe not. variant #'s not listed. This is how it should be. POISON IDEA was on the money and has been right about you guys since 1984. FTW! PS: TERRIBLE VACATION!!! I totally agree. It might seem like something stupid to miss. I love color variants and such, but when everybody starts charging an arm and a leg and calling everything "limited" it pretty much means limited until we feel like not selling it anymore. Seems more of a mantle piece as opposed to being into it because it's a great band. Maybe it's just getting jaded as get older, we miss "the old days". Just like when our parents say they remember when a soda was a nickle or something. Just weird to see stuff like 20-25 dollar lp's and such becoming the norm.

There was occasional alt country horseshit, but not threads about the latest super cool pirates press triple gatefold, with built in fleshlight that is limited to 100 on plaid vinyl for 60 bucks+. I don't know enough about either one of em to hate or dislike anyone. They are both good people in my book. I'm more of a DIY type person, so I'm probably partial to IVWT, but yeah, I haven't bought or dealt too much with either place. Except that SRC are always really nice folks to me, and stock our records occasionally.

Distributors have minimum order amounts. What likely happened, is that SRC had the albums listed as "in stock" a couple people ordered the records, they said "shit, we don't have this in stock" and as a quick remedy to the situation, they ordered 3 copies from IVWT, instead of having to place a 20pc or whatever minimum with the distributor. Not a big deal really, in my mind. Although it does seem like that is kind of par for the course for some companies/distros listing in stock records, that aren't really in stock yet.

Maybe if they make it private. But if they make a concerted effort to post the address, and make it known. Than no it is not private info. Plus depending on the business model, the company address may very well be public info regardless if you want it to be or not. My address is required to be public info, and I'm just an LLC Way too many variables, and I'm not legally educated in the least bit, by the farthest stretch of imagination, maybe The Mean can expand on this. You have piqued my interest now.

In all honesty, that info is already available on the SRC site itself. The address is a company address, if it was a home address/home phone number/personal address it may be a tad different. I actually like the SRC guys, they have always been super nice to me, and order from my label occasionally. I just think they (like Virgil) got in way over their head, and in the money chase, did a lot of the same stuff, putting up pre-orders for records from other places, listing a ton of stock, which is not actually in stock and hoping the distributor has it available when someone orders etc. Deffinitely a very shady company, but made of up of good people.. doing shady things. If that makes sense. The fight to become a profitable company, can turn good people into doing some bad things. I could honestly make a lot more than I do with my label if I had sacrificed some of my ethics/morals. But I chose not to, and just sell records through our distributors and direct to the small market of people who are still into old school punk rock. My 2 cents....

Looks like most of the bands they have "signed" are pretty pissed off that they keep licencing releases instead of releasing their own bands material. Street dates that have come and gone like 6 months ago and shit. I really hope there is an MTS fest or something, and a suicide bomber shows up to support the "awesome" packaging.

This place is insane. I'm sure he's had mad CC chargebacks. Blink 182 management has got to be really pissed off. Blink 182's label could easily yank the release back from em. At this point MTS has to be pissing off the band and their label and any pr folks of theirs. It wouldn't really suprise me if they end up having to scrap the release. Every label makes mistakes, I've made huge ones, most people learn from their mistakes, but jesus this label has screwed up just about everything the've done. Instead of learning lessons from past mistakes, it seems they just keep making more nutso mistakes. I don't care how "big" MTS thinks they are just because they shell out money to majors to licence stuff from, any label having at least 3 employees, plus shelling out thousands in royalties and insane crazy packaging, is a disaster waiting to happen, the overhead is stupidly nuts. Especially something like this. Essentially it will have been a horrible version of a kickstarter. I feel sorry kinda for the other smaller bands on MTS, they might be great bands but they are overshadowed by their controversial, slimebag label, and it looks like some of them are wondering about their own releases People think I'm mean sometimes, but seriously if this were any other legit label or business people would be out for their heads.

Just ordered 20 of these. Coming from CA, so best guess is that they will be here in a week. Same price as I paid for em, they are 6 bucks wholesale ( a lot I know) shipped media mail I'm guessing around 8.25 shipped. Of course cheaper if anyone wants a few of em, the ship rate should be the same. I'll probably just put a secret link on our webstore and post the url here, for people that have already expressed interest in wanting em. Hopefully they have 20 of em. I believe these are 100% out of print, with only a few stores that have some in stock..
