kamalatapes
Looking for generic bookshelf speaker stands, have you run across any for a low budget? Got some DIY methods?
kamalatapes
Just read through this http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/102131-speaker-stands/?hl=%2Bbookshelf+%2Bspeaker found some good insight but no physical recommendations
Tardcore
I have these and have no complaints. Sanus have a bunch of cheap options too, but I have a bit of an unrelated vendetta against them. kamalatapes
ajxd
I don't know, I think my post summed it up. kamalatapes
kamalatapes
I don't know, I think my post summed it up. I totally agree with the theory! Thanks for that. But perhaps some might know where I could order some!
ajxd
Also- we don't know what speakers you have, so how can we give any advice?
deandmb
Not sure what size speakers you have, however, I bookmarked some stands I seen in a thread I was reading here somewhere the other night. Someone had posted about using velcro strips to secure the speaker to the stand, if I remember right. They're at Amazon I'm also in search of a less expensive option since I don't really want to drop $200 on stands the speaker manufacturer is offering. ajxd
I'd avoid adjustable stands... Just over time the adjustable properties hold less and less. You can find cheap stands from Sanus on Amazon, or build some!
slinch
And to secure them to the stands use blu-tack.
ajxd
Yes. I can't tell you how frustrating it was the first time I used no -bolting stands... And my cat decided it would make a nice place to stand.
deandmb
The pets are what worry me. I have two 90 pound dogs and my setup is in the vicinity of the window so I can see them knocking them over. Today I brought home some cheap mdf type tables but the wife isn't having it. haha The Sanus stands look pretty nice and quite affordable. Thanks ajxd.
