danoise
Hi, I'm feeling it's time to replace my cartridge and/or needle. Have never had to deal with this before. I know how a needle can break/become deteriorated just by playing records but how does a cartridge break? anyway , my turntable is a kenwood KD491 F. The needle that is on it now is an audiotechnica styleicode N 509 (It looks like it here http://www.styli.co.nz/stylus-509.html ) but the replacement cartridge is listed as a V-67BL (http://www.lpgear.com/product/KDS67BLE.html ) these look very different...any suggestions of what to do? I have no idea if they will fit. One is nearly twice as much as the other, not that price is an issue for something as serious as being able to play my records. aarondltd
youspinmeround
You never replace a cartridge for wear..just the stylus/needle the lp gear link doesnt work Lp gear is a solid company...call them or needledoctor.com and they will steer you in the right direction for the correct model P.s. I got my yearly 2m blue. Lp gear was 45 bucks cheaper than needledoctor so look around for price danoise
vinyl addict
The cart can dry out and deteriorate, but that takes a very long time. Im sure you just need a stylus. Have you considered upgrading?
