go
A friend of mine wants to include download codes with his releases, just like Deathwish does, for example. Does anyone of you guys now how to realize stuff like this technically? What do I need to generate the codes, is there some freeware out there to do it or do you have to code it manually? Any comments, hints, links, tricks would be appreciated, thanks!
dante3000
I'm sure you can use some sort of random number generator. http://www.dave-reed.com/Nifty/randSeq.html Then just make sure that only the sequences approved can download. Guest baseball
Use Vinyl Downloads (http://www.vinyldownloads.com/) My friend Wes runs that site with kylewilliam, who also posts on here. Their prices are quite reasonable.

melikecheese
Yeah just use a service. It really wouldn't be too hard for a band to do low budget style. Randomly generate a bunch of numbers, print them all out and cut them into squares, put them in vinyl, then ask people to email you the code and send them an attachment. lol old school high tech.... forgeagain
Not cheaper than free if you know how to do it yourself, but yes, they are quite affordable.
