aviolentworld
so i went to my moms house for christmas and ended up leaving with a bunch of my stepdads vinyl. the only problem is that when i dug them out of the garage there was spider eggs and dirt and what have you all over the vinyl covers. 1. what is the best way to clean these jackets or do i just dust them off 2. a bunch of the jackets are not really worth repairing so what do i do with the vinyl if it is still in good condition. nickbuysvinyl
when my dad gave me his old records, they were a little dusty. I jsut took the records out and air-dusted the jackets off.
qskapunk
i've got something that is similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Auto-1-Nagaoka-Automatic-Record-Cleaner-made-in-Japan_W0QQitemZ110210716678 I got it for probably like $8 off ebay a number of years back - not exactly the same but the same principle - Pretty good at removing dust from the surface
patron
You could always try compressed air?
jhulud
If the dust and dirt are on the sleeves and jackets themselves and not the records, why not take a semi-damp cloth and wiping them down? Followed by a dry one of course to make sure there is no water/moisture left?...Hell...or even just wipe it down with a dry towel/cloth/rag...
