Questions for Gaslight Anthem?

Recommended Posts

i would kind of like to know how many songs are from personal experience, and how many are more stories and such.

I second that emotion. I'm curious how many of the songs are metaphors built around relationships.

I think their singer is married, I was always curious if singing about broken relationships, etc when you're married was odd.

1. Have they ever considered putting Courtney Cox in one of their music videos in order to bring all the Bruce Springsteen comparisons full circle?

2. For Brian: Has being the brother of a famous (albeit, unfunny) SNL alumnus had a positive or negative effect on your career? Discuss.

3. Does anyone in the band own every variant of every one of their releases on vinyl?

4. If you had to have sex with one of your own songs acting as the "mood music," which one would you choose? (Obviously if it was anal sex, you'd pick "Red In The Morning," so standard vaginal intercourse will suffice for the purposes of this question.)

Everyone is calling out my questions...sorry folks, not a big fanboy, just trying to help.

Sorry dude, not the intent I just thought you could find the answer to your question somewhere. ;D

haha Yea I was just saying that question had been asked and he didnt want to answer it so Dante might not want to ask that.

I actually really like to know the answer to that tho.

I kinda want to know if they felt pressured to write a better record than sink or swim. The 59 sound is definetly good, but overall doesnt touch Sink or swim.

is that something that is in the back of there mind or is all past?

Ooo ooo follow-up: How did the sound change come about? It seems there was a distinct shift form SOS to Senor and the Queen which then continued on to the '59 Sound. How did that come about? Was the sound on their last two efforts closer to what they want? Were they just in a different mood and with success had more money to dabble in the studio?

I always wondered if they liked the book 'Great Expectations' or if they just used the story as a metaphor for something that could have been great but ultimately failed. I love that song.. such a catchy little chorus that plagues me.

also, if they could tour with anyone dead or alive; who would it be?

maybe they've answered these questions, but like some of you I got into these guys not too long before '59 sound hit so I am by NO means an expert.
