ihprstl Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 One of the most difficult things to do is to get people to really listen to a new band, on a crappy label that they have never heard of. Trust me on this one. You can send people links to “Myspace” pages and websites and whatnot, but personally, I don’t think you can get a really good listen to a band without actually listening to the record or CD and looking at the artwork and reading the liner notes, or even better, seeing them live. It’s even harder for us to get a person, besides my Mom, to actually spend their hard earned money on those records. One thing I heard at the Fest this year way more than I thought I should of is, “I’ve never heard of these guys, they probably suck.” And as someone who tries to run a crappy label and sell new music by sucky bands, it is a little frustrating at times. The other comment I heard people make at the Fest this year as they walked by our merch table was, “I didn’t know the Honor System put out a new record.” And my response to that was, “Well, actually they didn’t. This was actually released in 2003 and we just put it out on vinyl blah blah blah.” So what the fuck does this little rant of mine amount too???
