thomas
So I bought Cursive Domestica on Dec. 18th, seller left me positive feedback after I paid. It's not about a month later and I have not received the item, and as of today the seller is no longer a registered member on ebay. I opened a dispute with paypal, now will this turn into a claim or what happens? I've never had to file a claim before so I'm not sure if I did the right thing. mattisr1984
first you file a dispute which youve alreay done. this basically is when paypal contacts the seller to say their is a dispute and to attempt to resolve it themselves. seeing as how theyre no longer registered, thats not going to happen. so, what you should do is escalate your dispute to a claim. this is where paypal will review the claim themselves and decide in favor of either you or the seller. you tell them your side, seller tells their side and they decide based on their policies. chances are, the seller wont even respond and itll be decided in your favor. now, you just need to hope they can recover funds from the seller. brokebackbrad
i haven't had to do one for awhile, i believe you have to escalate it to a claim in a week or so. if my memory serves me right. im going to have to file one soon
cactusbot
You have to escalate the dispute in order to turn it into a claim. That is an excellent record. It's a shame they didn't send it to you.
thomas
I escalated it to a claim. However it says; "Your dispute has been escalated to a claim. You must take action as outlined below before we can proceed with the claim. If the status of the case is 'pending' or 'undetermined,' return to the Resolution Center. Try viewing the claim again in 5 minutes for next steps." However there is nothing below? Edit: It says "Awaiting other party's response", so I did everything right? element101
yup You did it right. You're going to have to wait until they either respond or dont respond and then paypal will take a look at it and go from there.
thomas
Alright good. I'm really mad about this, as this record is fantastic and I really wanted it. It just made my already frustrating day even worse :-/. Oh well, hopefully I'll be refunded.
element101
I always hate when this kind of stuff happens. I just got refunded for my first rip-off on ebay. All i really wanted was my record but the dude was a flake but luckily i got my money back.
dreamover
this happened to me, and since they couldn't contact the seller (no longer ebay member) paypal gave me half the money (out of their pocket). but now it keeps saying paypal covers ebay transactions 100% now and stuff. so you should get it all back if they cant contact the seller. thomas
Alright cool. I'd rather have the record, but what can you do?
