mybabyxsmokes Posted February 20, 2008 Author Share Posted February 20, 2008 yea i read the directions guys. and i just switched it to incorrect way and it definately didnt work. i have a shitty used technics turntable while i wait for my new one to arrive. i plugged it in to a vintage yamaha receiver i bought and i got like no sound out of the phono input. i was told the preamp in the receiver might just be blown. buy a preamp, plug it into aux. did that still the same problem. plugged preamp into phono boom amplified sound. thats the deal. counterfiction Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 oh shit, check on your receiver to make sure the input mode is either "auto" or "analog" as that might make a difference. my receiver has a seperate setting for digital inputs which will not allow my turntable to play through the stereo. counterfiction Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 no problem. that makes no sense to me after all that you've tried. only thing i can think of is that there is a voltage switch on your pre-amp and it may be set to 220v instead of 120v.
