dante3000
Don't most trades have hardcover versions? And for most comics wouldn't it be more cost effective to sell the single issues and buy the trade? I don't know because I stopped collecting over 10 years ago but that would be my impression.
robotnerd
most single issues have ads in them, sooo... that's kinda the benefit of trades and company produced hardcovers.
motorbike
i have though about just selling them all and going for the trades and hardcovers but thats a lot of work, haha.
robotnerd
well, you probably won't make back your cover price on the singles. unless for some reason you have really rare singles. given the average price of a 6 issue trade, and the average trade-in value of a single issue, you'll probably get about 50% of the price of the trade, or 1/3 of the price of a hardcover collection. obviously depends on the title/company, some companies trades are really expensive. kurtz
I can only see this being worthwhile if the comics have not been reprinted in TPB or hardcover format. Personally I wouldn't do that to my comics anyway.
Just Another Tom
Personally i think i would sell of the comics and by the TPB or maybe work out some kind of trade for them. Saying that the G.I.Joe and Superman ones look swish. My only concern would be whether it was permanent or not and what the process actually does to the comic. alertthemute
I actually think this is a really really cool idea/way of saving your original singles. I have the original Spawn series from 1 up until like issue 15 or 16, and am now seriously considering doing this for them.
forgeagain
This would be kind of cool if I didn't have 20,000 comics, the vast majority not available in trades. Also, I've spent enough on these comics.....definitely not necessary to spend another $15 x a million.
