Haha, I was at a party tonight and my friend's boyfriend was wearing a shirt with this band on it. I honestly had no idea it was a band.

Heres a crazy story....

their original singer had a crazy girlfriend named August, so he broke up with her and she came to his house that night and lit his dog, (which was named Redd) on fire. When the story made it to the local newspapers the main headline was "August Burns Red".

And that's how they named their band.

Yeah, that's from their Wikipedia entry but I think it's kind of bullshit. Why would a newspaper report that story in the first place, let alone use the first name of a girl (and the proper name of a pet) in the headline?

they told me that story firsthand once.

so they're either full of shit and perputrating a horrible lie, or it actually happened lol.

and in manheim....i'd believe that something like that happened haha not much happens around there.

I don't know man my mums local paper churns out all sorts of crap, you light a letterbox on fire in that town and your guarenteed to hit the second page.

Yeah, but the headline would be "LOCAL MAN LIGHTS LETTERBOX ON FIRE" -- not "BDANGER BURNS SOME SHIT DOWN."

I dunno, seems a bit farcical if you ask me.

it's possible.

then again, i know how much the local papers around here like to be 'clever'.

i live about 40 minutes from where they're from and this is something that would definitely make front page news.

last week there was a front page article on two local metalcore bands (texas in july and an early ending) being in a car crash in some other midwestern state.
