kirbypuckett
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/49520-vampire-weekend-reveal-record-store-day-7 Indie rock newcomers Vampire Weekend will join indie rock AARP member Stephen Malkmus in boosting the cause of Record Store Day with the release of a single. Vampire Weekend's single is a 7" with the album version of "A-Punk" on the A-side and the "rehearsal version" of "Oxford Comma" on the B-side. It will come out on April 19, aka Record Store Day.In keeping with the Record Store Day M.O. (holding special events and offering exclusive merchandise at participating independent stores "with the purpose of celebrating the culture and unique place that they occupy both in their local communities and nationally"), the only shops that will carry the single are the ones participating in Record Store Day. Otherwise, VW completists can find the little vinyl slab at their shows and their website.

melikecheese
I was told to say, "it's not my thing" when I mentioned that Minus whoever band sucks.
bigmonkey
http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=537679 From a weekly rag I still read from when I lived in Seattle. Basically says that these guys are playing a style of Afro-Pop that was popular in Saweto something like 30 years ago. This stuff isn't my thing, but I thought the editorial was interesting. markalark17
I was told to say, "it's not my thing" when I mentioned that Minus whoever band sucks. Ronnie's just pissy because his band didn't get asked to release anything for this.

markalark17
My local store is holding a copy of this for me when they get them in. Pretty exciting. Unfortunately, I didn't hear about the show they're playing here until it was already sold out. Oh well...
ronniethebear
You guys are nuts for getting all bonerrific for this band, seriously. They'll be off the radar in a matter of months, just like Arctic Monkeys and all those other all-filler hype-fueled bands.
googlemyass
already picked this up

thebunk
LOL @ people on here busting nuts over sub-average bands (Minus the Hare).
markalark17
I just don't understand why people feel the need to dump on everything. Ronnie, if you don't like the band, then don't post in the thread. No one cares if you think they suck.
skumbucket
i'm not saying ronnie's right, but i thought the single looked pretty lame baed solely on the content. isn't it an album track and like a demo of an album song?
markalark17
^ Yeah, the a-side is "A-Punk", and then the b-side is a "beginning version" of "Oxford Comma" I think. But it's some demo of one of their other songs.
