geezfools
I know this should go elsewhere, but I think Virgil would approve of this being here as some people never visit others parts of the forums and this has to do with vinyl in one way or another(searching for it). Anyways, I've always wanted an "easy" way to search the vinyl collective store and it seems like there are search plugins for just about every other site I visit, so I made one for Vinyl Collective. I think this will work for newer versions of IE as well, but I'm on a mac, so someone should test it out if possible. But yeah, click your way over here, install it and use it. If you got any questions or are stoked on it, lemme know. This should work for any version of firefox past 2.5 I think. I'm using it on a beta version of 3.6 with no issues. Vinyl Collective - http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=stores.channeladvisor.com No Idea Records - http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=noidearecords.com Dead Format Searches. There are a few of these and one of them is a double, the icon was fucked, but now it looks fine. Anyways, there are searches for tradelist, tradelist wants, artist search, label search and release search. Go here for the list of them. Should be easy to spot the double. http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=deadformat Go to the site if you have firefox, click where it says Vinyl Collective. Should be a popup asking if you want to install, you do. Up in the right corner where the search bar is, there should be an option for searching Vinyl Collective right there... geezfools
i am having trouble making this work with my webtv. advice help? not sure of webtv works with the opensearch protocol or whatever it is. Can you install other searches with webtv? I've never used it before. As far as I understood it, this would only work with Firefox/IE, which support the opensearch deal. geezfools
Glad everyone is into it, not a big deal, but kind of nice to just be there instead of going to a site and then searching. One less click is not a bad thing these days, lol Email sent Virgil

geezfools
Just wanted to bump this post and mention I have added a few more searches for any dead format users out there. Click your way to this site: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=deadformat There are a few of these and one of them is a double, the icon was fucked, but now it looks fine. Anyways, there are searches for tradelist, tradelist wants, artist search, label search and release search. Go here for the list of them. Should be easy to spot the double. If you have any problems, lemme know. If you missed this thread earlier, read the first post since it mentions you'll be needing firefox 2.5 or better and that IE7 may or may not work. It also has the vinyl collective search plugin
