thisthatrecords
Hey guys. We are having a record release show (A few months late haha) for our latest release "Grave Robbers- Into The Killing Fields" in mid November. There are 3 colors of this record so there is not a specific color for the record release version. I'm thinking a slip cover that covers the whole front of the record and a small portion on the back, maybe hand numbered out of whatever. But at the same time I am thinking this is kind of boring and overplayed. I wanna do something fun with this. Does anyone have any good ideas? Money is an issue but I do understand I will most likely be spending something on this. If anyone has good ideas for a record release "Version" let it be known. geezfools
I don't think record release screened covers are overplayed, but then again, I've never been to a record release show with a special version for the people attending. I don't have any other ideas, good luck
thisthatrecords
I don't think record release screened covers are overplayed Youre right... I guess I just wanna do something I haven't ever seen before. I most likely will just get new art screened, to keep it different.

Guest afsdan
-make a stencil and spraypaint -make a unique screenprint design -tear pages from the bible and try to spell the band/album name by marking out unnecessary letters -hit up your favorite doctor and ask him/her for old old x-rays (be sure to cut out any names) -make a box cover (see recent Kylesa thread) use your imagination. kyleevanswastaken
Sell the record just like it is now. It makes you look like a normal person instead of a douchebag looking to unload 50 copies of a record that has been out for awhile already. Guest afsdan
no need to be negative. it's not abnormal to want to make a record release version.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Make a stamp and everyone that is sold at the show will get stamped.

It makes you look like a normal person instead of a douchebag looking to unload 50 copies of a record that has been out for awhile already. I don't think he looks like a douchebag. It's lame when bands will do this, just to sell online, but for a record release show, it's kind of "special" or whatever. I always hope that record release shows I go to will have something "special" but hasn't happened yet.
thisthatrecords
Well, first off, it is just for fun to do a record release version, just something to take home saying "I was at the show" but it is also a great way to "Unload 50 copies". You make it seem as if selling 50 records in one night is a bad thing.
