The Bouncing Souls: 20th Anniversary Series Volume Four PREORDER available now at http://www.chunksaah.com

2009 is slated to be an important and busy year for New Jersey natives, THE BOUNCING SOULS. They are celebrating 20 years of vibrant, heartfelt punk rock, with plenty of special treats in store for fans old and new.

It was almost 16 years ago that THE BOUNCING SOULS put out their first album on their very own Chunksaah Records, and in a true return to the DIY spirit in which they began, THE BOUNCING SOULS are self-releasing a new 7” every third month of 2009 on Chunksaah!

2009 will not only be a celebration of THE BOUNCING SOULS 20 years as a band, but also a great big “thank you” to all the True Believers who’ve joined their ranks along the way.

Produced by Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly, Street Dogs)

was there ever a reason announced as to why they locked the grooves on a few of these, aside from annoying the shit of of people?

I don't think anyone ever said why. I bitched all about it here:

My guess is that since the vinyl editions of the series each have a "bonus" track, they used the locked groove as a way to make it "hidden" (aka annoying)....just a guess though...

Either way...ordered. 8-)

I hope they make the tour versions available at some point. I had a chance to pick up the first one in March, but haven't been to any shows since (missed one in September). I've gotten all the mail order ones in the meantime. Not enough of a completist to get into the retail ones.

The locked groove does make it interesting, I guess it's no more annoying than having to fast forward 8 minutes of silence to get to the hidden track on CDs. Ballads from the Revolution and Behind Bars were the most annoying I recall, so many times I got so close and pushed it down too hard and skipped to the next song.

Anyways, ordered this one, along with that killer scarf.

Edit: The other thread talked all about the comparison to secret tracks, I didn't read that.
