monk0nuggets
So, I'm sitting here at work, in the studio of the classic rock station I DJ on once a week. I run the local music show, and I don't really listen to the station other than that. It's almost time for my show and Weezer's The Sweater Song comes on. (everything pretty much runs in automation) Weird? I looked in the library in the system and there is a bunch of songs off of the Blue album and on the same page as Weezer are White Stripes songs. This just struck me as bizarre. Any thoughts.
monk0nuggets
The funny part is that Niel Young played before Weezer and Def Leppard played after it. hahaha
cadetapplesauce
that's really weird. i'd imagine blue songs would come on during 90's weekends or something like that. but not during the classic rock program.
adamlikesmusic
90's weekends are driving me insane. The station here does it every week, and it seems they don't have enough variety, so I hear the same damn Pearl Jam song every few hours. But yes, Weezer as classic rock seems a bit soon. A station in LA does that too, KROQ. The problem I have is they play the stuff from the 90s that didn't age well at all or is simply not good. Then again I ignore the radio now-a-days because of crap like I'm expounding on so it doesn't affect me anymore.
steventangent
Classic rock = shitty old AOR to me. So yeah, it's weird. I mean, it'd even be strange to hear, say, the Stooges on a classic rock station.
benchwarmer
that's cool. I'd much rather hear that on the classic rock station I listen to than anything from the past 5 years from U2. It is NOT a beautiful day.
