scotterson
The El Paso Times ran a piece about Sleepercar for the Sunday show in their weekend magazine, El Tiempo. The story included a line that said Sparta broke up in 2008. Sparta is not broken up, it was a mistake. I just wanted to point that out. Sparta is taking a nap. Shhh... we need our beauty sleep. From Sleepercar's site. I knew they never "officially" broke up, but didn't know whether or not to expect a new album. This is all the confirmation I need to get excited! thedavidescapeplan
I could never really get into these guys despite my great appreciation for ATDI. Should I give them another shot?
mygreatdevastator
I truly enjoyed the first record.
scotterson
I could never really get into these guys despite my great appreciation for ATDI. Should I give them another shot? I would say yes, but they are probably my favorite band. Ever. I followed them over from ATDI as well, but for some reason Sparta just grabbed me more than ATDI ever did. Give Wiretap Scars another listen, then go from there. All three albums are so good.
devinr
I truly enjoyed the first record. I couldn't get into their first album. I thought Porcelain was ok but had a few weak spots. Threes was outstanding.
mygreatdevastator
Then I suppose I should check out threes. Porcelain was meh to me. I loved Wiretap Scars and I will most likely end up listening to it at lunch.
devinr
I thought Threes was a more cohesive release than Porcelain. Porcelain just had too many dull spots for me.
thousandjulys
love them all but wiretap scars is soooo good
xjustinxschwierx
Yes, great band. Even though I loved ATDI, I more liked them for the live show than their records. I listen to the records to remind myself of them live. Where as Sparta, I enjoy their albums and enjoyed seeing them live.

thedavidescapeplan
It looks like I'll be giving these guys another go tonight. I never saw ATDI live, although I would have loved to, but I heard In/Casino/Out when I was maybe 11 and it totally fucked with my head. I had no idea what was going on at the time but it really resonated with me and ended up exposing me to whole different style of music. That album seemed to capture so much of the raw energy that band had and to this day it's still one of my favorite albums...and I need to get that on vinyl
mariawithoneeye
good to hear that Sparta didn't actually break up.
steventangent
Wiretap Scars was one of the best guitar records of whatever year it came out. I forget shit sometimes. But I remember listening to it and going, "goddamn, there's some awesome guitar shit happening on this record."
