hedon
From the Kaptiaen Platte newsletter: Welcome on board again ladies and gentlemen, We are proud to present you our triple-pre-order, cause we have three new ships, sailing on the seven seas: KUTTER-002: Instrument- s/t (Release Date: October, 1st) Munich based band, out of the ashes of COSMIC CASINO, with a fantastic mixture of Efish-postrock, Oceansiced-Britpop and Motorpsycho-progrock. They released the CD version on their own label Instrument Village and will be on tour with Unwinding Hours (ex-Aerogramme) in October. The record comes as a double LP in a silk-screen cover with an exclusive vinylbonustrack and is limited to 600 copies. There will be a pre-order Version of 100 copies with different color on the cover and will contain one of five different handstamped bandphotos. So give them a chance and have a listen on: http://www.myspace.com/theinstrumentvillage KUTTER-003: EF – Give me beauty…or give me death (Release Date: October, 1st) The Record, we actually wanted to start with, before we decided to release Mourning Golden Morning first. “Give me beauty” was the debut of this swedish guys and has already become a standard in the postrock-scene. Ef released the CD version on their own label And The Sound 2006 and now we’ll put it out on vinyl for the first time. For the vinyl-version it was remixed and masterd by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna). OK, there are the same musical background and the same emotions, they are working with, but while EF has entered the postrock way, Immanu El has opened the door and entered indie pop music. The record wiil be our first non-double-LP and is also limited to 600 copies. There will be a pre-order Version of 100 copies on white vinyl and, once again, will contain one of five different handstamped bandphotos. http://www.myspace.com/immanuelband All records will be handnumbered with a handstamped label on the cover. jailhouse
The word "limited" get's tossed around too much. In todays climate and economical time, as well as an industry in the shitter. 600 copies is not a limited press. Moreover, I'd be willing to bet, that if it sold really well, it would be repressed. Every single label uses the word limited it seems like, to describe every single record they release. Not directed at you personally, just in general. smailtronic
This is a little different. They're not saying OMG SUPER LIMITED, they're just saying "limited to 600 copies." I do agree that OMG SUPER LIMITED is way overused, but I don't have a problem with the way they're using it. Gonna have to think about that EF. Saw them with This Will Destroy You, and they put on a decent show.
