AlexH.
What problem are you having with XLD? It's for sure the most versatile converter for Mac, and as far as I know you just have to drag it into your applications folder to install it. kidamnesiac
XLD can be confusing to use at first, because when it opens, there is no window. You'll know it's there because it'll say XLD in the menu bar. Go to XLD>Preferences... and select your output format (usually LAME MP3). You can then set your compression and other settings with the Option button next to your chosen output format. Make sure you take note of the output directory or change it to suit your needs, then just open the files you want to convert with XLD (either from the File menu within XLD or by right clicking the files>Open With>XLD). You can also rip CDs with XLD, which I prefer over using iTunes. To do this go to File>Open Audio CD>... within XLD. It's pretty straightforward from there. XLD is seriously one of the best open source pieces of software I have ever had the pleasure of using. I HIGHLY recommend it.
