danalive
I have seen this before and I think its a pretty cool idea. There a lot of places on the net where bands have posted free downloads of songs or even entire albums. If you have any links feel free to post them here. ONLY post official links from the bands themselves. Nothing illegal since Virgil wants to keep that kind of stuff off the board. Here goes: Imaginary Baseball League - The Letter (2002) http://ryanrayborn.com/the_letter_mp3/ Imaginary Baseball League - Cardiact (2003) http://www.ryanrayborn.com/justforlisa/ Imaginary Baseball League - Revive (2004) http://www.ryanrayborn.com/revive_mp3/ You can also go to the main page on http://www.imaginarybaseball.com and download the last album they recorded that was partial unfinished and never officially released. Btw, this band is incredible and you should really check them out. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Denison Witmer http://www.happybirthdaydenison.com As of today (November 4, 2006), I am 30 years old. I'm throwing my own birthday party. You are all invited. I have decided to give you a gift: 30 new recordings of songs from my entire catalog, a few covers, a few unreleased songs, and a some podcasts of stories from my touring and my life in general. This is my gift to you free of charge. However, the purpose of Happy Birthday Denison is to serve as a fund-raiser for my favorite charities. Every year, I will be adding content to this site on my birthday. In exchange for the content (songs, etc), I am asking that you donate money to the charities I have chosen. Please donate whatever amount wish. The content on this site will always remain free of charge. All donations are received as a goodwill exchange. AlexH.
Flashbulb - Soundtrack to A Vacant Life This guy found out that his music was on iTunes without his involvement (he's on his own label) and put his record on the torrent trackers. If you can spare the cash, he'd appreciate if you bought the CD, but otherwise, you can just download it in MP3 or FLAC. The music itself is pretty good instrumental music. I'm not sure what to compare it to, as I don't listen to this kind of music too often, but it's totally worth the download.
adamlikesmusic
The new Pennywise album will be available for free (for 2 weeks) if you're friends with this myspace page. (http://www.myspace.com/textango) I'm a bit tempted to create a myspace for shit like that.

xjustinxschwierx
http://www.punknews.org/bands/rollotomasi if you go here, you can stream the entire Rollo Tomasi full length I put out a couple years ago. I describe the band as the perfect marriage of Fugazi and Helmet. I still get fucking psyched about this record. One of my undiscovered gem releases. the band is still kind of together, but they play very seldom. They're from Chicago, the singer/guitarist Neil has been in bands like Gauge, Euphone, the Sky Corvair, Supporting Actress and Traluma. Matt, the other guitar player is in Mt. St. Helens again and was in a band called Straight Legged Kick. Pete, the bassist on this record was in Hanalei and the drummer on this record, Chris is in Treaty of Paris now... I think that's the band...whatever band it is, they tour with Yellowcard a lot..... despite that last bit...give this a chance. All humility aside this record is pretty amazing...if you're into bands like Fireside, Helmet, Quicksand, Handsome & Fugazi.

Is this up for download anywhere? I wouldn't mind listening to it more often, but I'm not much for online album streams. Sounds pretty killer though, either way. Edit: Nevermind, I see the website and store now.
