Guest deathbydrums
For areas with seasonal snow and rain, what do you use for a mailbox to protect your records until you get home? My "porch" is tiny. I'm also hoping this would hide packages from untrustworthy passer-bys for when I get home late. Any ideas are appreciated. endlessslog
if you don't have something to protect your packages from the weather, talk to your carrier/PO and ask them to just leave notices for your parcels so you can pick them up at the PO

It's a little extra work but it's worth it.
almightyseancore
i live in an apartment. my mailman is well aware of my record hobby, so he leaves all my packages at the office if i don't answer the door, and leaves a note in my mailbox letting me know its there. Guest deathbydrums
Simple but effective! I'm not sure that I have a "regular" postal person. Seems that different postal workers come and sometimes in the same day there will be more than one truck (and they'll both be Canada Post). So I'll try to find and talk to the postal people or put a note on my door for them to do that. Currently there's a note to put them in the garage but soon a nice huge patch of ice will be right in front of that door because of a leaky eavestrough... maybe i should be getting things fixed instead of buying more records? In the meantime, I'd love to see/hear what anyone else does. Thanks vinylers!
gutzonborglum
I ended up just opening up a PO Box exclusively for records because the weather here gets downright horrible sometimes. It's really no inconvenience since the post office is only about a mile from my home and I can swing by there after work.

deadreckoning
My new place doesn't have a covered porch so everything in the mailbox usually gets wet when it rains or get very hot in the dead of summer. Now i have records delivered to my work. The admin lady calls me whenever one comes in and i excitedly skip to the mail room.
