justaminrthreat
I'm in a punk/folk band from Visalia, CA (near Fresno) that's looking to start playing shows out of town as soon as March. Does anyone here have any suggestions for venues and/or contacts that might help me out?
dynamitekid
I think the smell can help you, if its still open in L.A.

justaminrthreat
Cool. It says they don't have a central booking person, but I went ahead and sent a message directly to the venue asking if they might be able to get me some contacts with people/bands, so I guess I'll just see what comes of that. Are there any other cool places that are similar and do punk shows?
manicdogbert
Check out the 5 Star Bar and (depending on how folk-y you are) Pehrspace
justaminrthreat
So as a follow-up to this, kinda out of nowhere my friend got in contact with a guy and got us a show at Gilman, and I'm beyond stoked about it. I know it's not a big deal to people that live in the Bay Area, but growing up reading about it and such it's the stuff of legend for me. It's this Saturday, March 17th. Should be a fun show. https://www.facebook.com/events/312852932108341/ We might have something in LA in May at The Smell or Pehrspace, too. shenanigans
you should hit up the Blackhands. Maybe they'll trade shows with you. They're acoustic punk - acoustic guitar, stand up bass and drums.
