Battles will follow a spectacular 2011, which saw the release of their acclaimed second album Gloss Drop, with a series of very special remix releases in 2012. The series, titled 'Dross Glop', begins with a special 12" featuring remixes of Battles tracks from Gui Boratto and The Field.

Love the artwork for these releases. I may or may not end up picking this up though. As much as I want to like gloss drop I just don't listen to it that much. Unlike their first album.

I initially wasn't sold on it either but picked the album and single up out of habit. It's grown on me and while it's definitely a different beast than 'Mirrored' - much closer in spirit to the early EPs - I think it's just as solid if not stronger overall than the debut now.

Plus the artwork is just phenomenal. I was initially only going to get one of the "Ice Cream" 12"s - chocolate, as seen in my avatar - but ended up with all three because I hated not having the complete set more than I hated them for roping me in to buying essentially the same single three times.

The remixes from the first volume are now available via YouTube and their official site. (http://bttls.com/dross-glop/) I quite like the "Wall Street" one but am not entirely sold on "Sweetie & Shag" yet.

Usually don't like remix albums but these first two tracks are well done. Hopefully this will introduce people to some cool electronic artists.

Agreed. The first two minutes of "Sweetie" are pretty useless, but it gets real good after that.

Battles proudly present the second in a series of highly anticipated remixes from their 2011 album Gloss Drop. Each release in the series comes exclusively on 12" vinyl and contains stunning, exclusive re-works of the original album art. This second release in the remix series sees Shabazz Palaces, Kode9 and Alchemist recreate Battles kinetic tracks.

Shabazz Palaces, whose 2011 album Black Up made them one of the breakout acts of the year, lend their voice and production to Battles "White Electric." Alchemist, who re-works the Battles track that was performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, "Futura," is the well-known producer behind Mobb Deep and Dilated Peoples as well as one of Eminem's DJs. Kode9, leader of the ahead-of-its-time Hyperdub has undeniable taste. As author, producer and early contributor to dubstep, his discovery of UK sensation Burial and The Spaceape have had limitless effect on the future. His remix of crowd-favorite "Africastle" has to be heard to be believed.

Battles Dross Glop 2 Track Listing:

1. Futura (Alchemist Remix)

2. White Electric (Shabazz Palaces Remix)

3. Africastle (Kode9 Remix)
