sharkticon
I'm happy to announce Josh Ritter's new EP, Bringing In The Darlings, to be released on February 21. Head over here to check out the details and stream the song "Why" from the EP. Paste is exclusively streaming "Why" all day today. You will also be able to hear "Why" on tonight's episode of Parenthood on NBC! The new songs are wonderfully simple and beautifully recorded by Josh and his friend Josh Kaufman in New York last fall. There are lots of nice soothing harmonies. A very wintery record, I feel. We're offering a few options, including a 10", CD, and bundle option which also includes pins, a sticker, an awesome hand sewn shirt, and a signed poster (while supplies last). The first 100 10" bundle pre-orders will receive a limited hand screen printed cover version featuring alternate art. A limited screen printed CD is also available, by itself or as part of the bundle. ALL pre-orders will receive an immediate download of "Why". sharkticon
The collection of songs, which Ritter calls his version of lullabies, came from a recent writing session. The songs didn’t fit with the tracks Ritter was writing for his still-untitled forthcoming album. As he described it, the tracks were “strays,” but that’s not all they had in common. Every track on album contains the word “darling” at some point. In bringing the collection of songs together, Ritter had his title for the EP: Bringing in the Darlings. http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/av/2012/02/song-premiere-josh-ritter---why.html

sharkticon
Bringing In The Darlings is out today! We just premiered the music video for "Love Is Making Its Way Back Home" over on Etsy. Go watch here: http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/josh-ritters-love-is-making-its-way-back-home/ The video was created using 12,000 die-cut pieces of construction paper. The still were edited together, no other special effects applied. It's really an amazing piece of art.
retrospectacle
So, my CD was numbered 12/97, pretty cool. But I didn't notice any numbering on the screen printed 10". Was there no intent on numbering those for some reason?
sharkticon
Not entirely sure, to be honest. My copy of it hasn't even shown up yet! I know Blue Collar ran into some printing issues with the 10" jackets. So maybe they scrapped the idea during the process.
