dobrock
Obviously I see a ton of newer stuff get passed around through here and a couple of older records get posted through the cracks. I, like many of you, have tons of records from my parents (and some from my grandparents) Any recommendations the best way to go about selling these? There are definitely gems in there too. I'm thinking of just listing each one (which is going to take FOREVER) and taking offers or do lot sales work better?
jeremybentham
Remember, there weren't tapes & CD's back then, so there are literally millions and millions of those records. Unless they're some deep, DEEP underground prog rock, northern soul records, Japanese pressings with OBI strips intact, or some other desirable foreign pressings, you just have a bunch of records. nyhi
I was thinking about this recently, I also have a bunch of hand me down records, they're basically worthless I've gathered. I have doubles of a bunch too like Pretenders, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder etc. They're just heavy and taking up space, not sure my next move though, just not ready to set them out on the street yet. robx
keep them and realize how much better it all is than blink 182/minus the bear/btbam or whatever else you're buying ten copies of. seriously, in a few years you're going to regret getting rid of most of it. also, try used record stores. dobrock
I appreciate all the responses. I'm definitely going to make it a project to make a list of all the records. If a couple people are interested in them, cool. I will certainly keep you updated. They take up soooo much room.

retrospectacle
Dibs on The Zombies "Odessey and Oracle" if you have a copy!
bobfrombob
Make a list! You are talking my era here. If you are selling fairly common discs for $4 - $6 a disc, it might be hard to sell somebody one record as the shipping kinda kills you but if people are interested in multiple things, you might move a lot of stuff. somethingvinyl
I'd be into Beach Boys Wild Honey and the Velvet Underground record for not so much money since neither are rare.
