Guest Posted June 20, 2013 Share Posted June 20, 2013 estimated damage done to metropolis: $700 billion, economic damage: $2 trillion. even before reading these figures, this was alarming while i watched. so much of the fighting was gratuitous, abrasive, and just overall pointless. my friend compared it to the fighting in transformers. no one's hurting anyone, and people are just being killed. "HEY CAPTAIN THIS MAGNET IS MAKIN OUR MISSELS ALL WONKY!" ... FIRES ANOTHER 400. "THESE BULLETS AREN'T DOING A DARN THING TO THESE ALIENS!" ... FIRES ANOTHER 4,000. every other scene was a recap of the previous. i thought the visual effects were fantastic when his father was telling him his origins. except all he did was retell the first 30 minutes of the movie. also, from the moment amy grant stepped on screen i couldn't get over how dumb i've been in my inability to tell her and isla fisher apart.
