New movie from director of We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. Looks incredible.

We're 5 episodes through 30 Coins and it's awesome. Very Twin Peaks-esque in that it's weird and leans heavily into soap opera melodrama. Great (at times subtle) world building that expands as the series progresses, and a few Carpenter-esque creature designs.

This one is better than the second, so you should enjoy it for sure.

That's good to hear! I enjoyed the first two, but thought the third was pretty bad.

Totally Killer was a ton of fun — thanks for the recommendation!

Yeah, it's true. He also wanted to go to a haunted house for the first time this year - problematic because he is definitely afraid of the dark - so I made plans with my friend and his daughter and we all went out to a local place that has five different haunted house (all of which are actually pretty good) and I'll be damned if he didn't love every one of them. Hopefully he'll have a thirst for more horror, but I'm slow rolling it for now.

When Evil Lurks was nuts. Some pretty crazy visuals and what an overall beautiful looking film for such a dark theme.

If you haven’t, give his first one - Terrified - a try. It’s also really really good. He’s stupid talented.

Now I definitely need to check it out because Final Girls was also awesome. Looks like this will probably be one of our weekend movies this week!

Yeah, I went and caught a late-night showing of Talk to Me in the theater and really enjoyed it - then I rented it with my wife this past Sunday night and it was great on the re-watch as well.
I'm also very excited for The Fall of the House of Usher, we'll be checking it out this weekend as well!

He was SO GOOD today! I went in with zero expectations and it was incredible! Ended up buying a print, hopefully one day he’ll put out his solo stuff as a physical format

Good deal! Like I said, it was a great show and an amazing opportunity we couldn’t miss. Matt was super nice and chill also.
We’ve seen Dave Bazan / Pedro the Lion a couple times via Undertow’s living room show setup, and he’s (unsurprisingly) awesome in the uber-small setting as well.

Me and a buddy did this a few years back / it was a great show as long as you go in knowing (I assume this has not changed) that he’s only playing solo material + 1 Centaur song (+1 cover).

I can see that logic.
Ours was a 930 showing, which my local had screenings for a few nights this past week, but only 930 showings.
It was pretty well sold, not sold out but fairly full, and I don’t think there was any issue whatsoever with our crowd. I was also a little worried about that, having seen it already, and knowing that it’s certainly a bit more blurry and art house than people might expect, but crowd was really receptive and had some really good interaction / reactions on some of the creepier/scarier parts, and it was overall a fun experience. I’m not sure if I liked it any *more* seeing it in the theater or not, but it was fun to get out anyway.
My wife and I watch The Vigil back in 2020? 2021? Whenever it came out, and we enjoyed it quite a bit.

It’s so great, a good step back up from Synchronic, which I enjoyed but no where near to the level of their other stuff. I never thought I’d see a cinematic palimpsest, but here we are.

I watched Something in the Dirt on NYE and thought it was great! Don't think Benson/Moorehead fans will be disappointed.

Just saw that Something in the Dirt has its theatrical release this coming week, highly highly recommend that you check it out if you haven’t had a chance to yet. Benson and Morehead remain my two favorite directors in the speculative space.
No movies for me tonight, catching Godspeed you Black Emperor at a local show.

Yep, same issues for me around not being able to quote and the notification issue as well. The issues are occurring for me on Chrome, Edge, and Safari - on my phone, work laptop, personal laptop, and personal computer.

It was brand new to me as of yesterday. Was mostly just bullshitting around online trying to find a movie and came across it.

First I’m hearing about this one. I looked it up and it sounds really good. I’ll have to check it out.

iwokeinrelief got a reaction from FlippingOut in Is This Real? Discogs "CDs Are Making A Comeback"
I'd love to see the average cost / CD overlaid with the rise in sales; people dumping their CD collections for cheap as digital become the go-to *and* with the rise in vinyl popularity <> mean that CDs are making a comeback. Now, if sale price is flat or rising than maybe the case can be made, but I doubt it - count of CD sales alone is kind of a meaningless statistic.
