When H to the Izzo came on during the drive over the bridge I laughed hysterically. I like a few of the songs on the soundtrack but honestly the rap was so out of place.
Oooooooh yeah. Sorry about that, you're totally right. I do think everything else was placed pretty well but I totally forgot about that til I read your post. Jesus, that was awful.

Saw the movie last night and the songs didn't detract from it as much as I expected them to.

So the pre-order is official, only a double picture disc so far for vinyl. Hopefully anyone else here that thinks that sucks balls can let them know on their Facebook page under one of the most recent updates they made with a pre-order link. This stinks!!
Picture discs for both the UK and US? Balls! Looks like I won't be purchasing this album at all until a real version comes out. I already know the CD will be loudness wars crushed to shit.
What a bummer. I just cannot stand picture discs. I'll be passing on this until they get around to a regular pressing if they ever do.

WOW. Really wish I would have been able to get in on this for that price. That's just awesome.
-
I thought it was just my copy. There is definitely some distortion going on in side B (EU peach pressing). It starts around Snow Queen/Sunday girl.
I'll have to listen to it again to double check mine. Thank you for narrowing it down so I can check.

Listened to Side 2 last night and didn't notice any issues at all on my white copy.
-
they are awesome, but they should all be that yellow/black splatter.
Thought the same thing. I'll probably get the Cash one because I love the tune, but I would probably buy all three if the whole press looked that cool.
-
Still really want this, but not for what most people are asking.
Found this for you today at face value. I'm going to PM you the details in a minute

Got my white copy today...really diggin' United's patented textured vinyl on the B side.
My stylus, not so much.
Anybody else?
I got a white one today from my local shop. Put it through the VPI machine but didn't listen to it yet. I didn't notice anything wrong with the b-side though.

Wasn't much for the band overall but I did like My Immortal a great deal. I liked the live version better but for $15, I'll grab this off of Amazon to have the song in the first place.

Was there any definite on what the error was supposed to be with Side 2?
-
Wow, that's great to hear. I heard a couple horror stories so I'd stayed away.
-
Interestingly our regular pressings of this seem to have a fault on the b side. Not too surr if its just a faulty batch or a pressing fault. You might want to check your b sides!
We listened to the second side last night and didn't noticed any issues.

Ended up grabbing this. Listened to it last night and really liked it a great deal.

I've known a few people who've ordered from Pop Market and they always end up waiting months for their orders to be fulfilled.

Got my copy on white in today. About to open and spin now.
edit: Really enjoying this album. It feels like a natural and successful transition from Contra. I don't see it necessarily winning over anyone that isn't already a fan of Vampire Weekend but after the first spin, it's very solid. Definitely worth a purchase.
Good to hear. My local store didn't get theirs yet, but I'll probably pick it up tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to that first spin.
-
Love the movie and never got around to grabbing the soundtrack, so I'll be picking this up.
-
Right on. I absolutely LOVE MFSL. I may not get in on any of these releases, but I'm always excited to see what they're up to next.

Hats off to octave for trading his C/D side for my A/B side!!!
It arrived yesterday and looks and sounds perfect!
I was a little apprehensive shipping the duplicate LP out at first, but he came through!
This same thing happened to me last year with a different album (Junta) but when I contacted Strictly Discs, who I'd ordered it through via the mail, last year they got me an email address to contact and the label took care of it, but this year they said that Capitol had told them that they had no remaining stock to fix issues.
Ya know... this reminds me. I only listened to the first LP on RSD. I really need to check to make sure I didn't get a double myself.
-
Well, $40 would be fine with me...but I'd have to pay the $48 (or something) plus another ~$25 for shipping to Germany...just too much for this soundtrack...
Oh yeah, I could see that being a problem. I live in the US and I often pass on great finds on Discogs because of shipping costs to get it over to me.
My local store does internet sales. I'd be glad to ask them if they ship to Germany and if it's any better than $25 if you like.
-
Almost bought this yesterday but couldn't bring myself to spend the $20 as I'm not sure how often I'll listen to it. I grabbed the Steve Martin & Edie Brickell instead.
-
I snagged a sealed baby blue copy off eBay about a year ago. I was so bummed when I played it only to find that it's slightly off center.
-
Would love to get my hands on the splatter one, but this price is just ridiculous...
I ended up pulling the trigger at $40 from my local record shop. I agree that it's a tad over priced but I really like the soundtrack plus the blood spatter is cool.

All I know is that I'm very excited for the standard release. The gold foil embossed cover will look so good and will make up for the sadness I face from not getting Watch the Throne
Not to derail, but I was at Culture Clash Records in Toledo the other day and they had a copy of Watch The Throne. I would assume you could call there for a price and see if they ship.
