We just moved into a new house. Here's an idea of how the basement is shaping up:
-
I have mixed feelings in regards to the track lengths. Like I said initially, I was also surprised to see the lengths. 70 minutes for 10 tracks is long, regardless of what people said. Now, in terms of the long tracks, I feel like 1, 4, 9, and 10 are justified. That leaves 3, 6, and 8 that I think are long-winded (if I'm remembering correctly). And that's after listening to it pretty much non-stop. That being said, track 8 is still the only son I consistently skip.
Ok cool. I appreciate the thoughts. I'm finally going to have a chance to really listen to the LPs front to back tonight and I'll get an idea of how I really feel about it.

Had some Reward Zone certs to burn so I poked around on Best Buy's website. Ended up ordering the first Audioslave album.
-
I just checked this out as well. I was floored by the length of these songs. I'd have to listen more to see if they are justified (rimshot), but it seemed a little excessive.
I'll give it a few more listens myself. I have the same early favorites as everyone here.
Please post when you've listened to it more. I'd like to find out if anyone else feels the way I do about the songs seemingly being long just to be long.
-
I like the sound quality of the pressing itself but I'm not overly impressed with the album thus far. Seems like a lot of the 5+ minute songs are that long "just because". It's almost like a lot of choruses repeat unnecessarily just to get a longer run time.
I've only listened to a it once through though so I'll be giving it more of a chance as the week goes on.

As far as what's getting remastered/released being a sign that it's gone too far, I disagree.
When anything gets re-released or remastered on any format, for me it's a matter of "one mans treasure...". While I personally might not have any interest in a remaster/re-release of The Gambler, I bet it made someone else's day. The Mo-Fi Silver Label releases are a good example of this IMO. I was super excited to see the re-releases on stuff like Cyndi Lauper and Tears For Fears material whereas some others might think it's comical. By the same token, there's plenty of stuff showing up in the bins that I have less than zero interest in and wish other records were in their place.

Today I picked these up
JT-The 20/20 ExperienceBlack Crowes-Wiser For The Time
The Crowes sounds FAR better than I'd heard it was going to.

Picked mine up today. LP 1 has a slight warp in it which goes away when I put the clamp on, but I'm still going to exchange it later this week.

I have a wishlist of sorts that's full of things from the late 80s through the 90s that weren't released on vinyl in the US or were in far bigger pressings overseas that I've been knocking off little by little lately. Tesla's Five Man Acoustical Jam, Ice-T's O.G., Ozzy Osbourne's Live & Loud... stuff like that.
-
My local shop didn't get theirs yesterday so I'm out of luck til Monday.
-
It's coming, hopefully in about 2 weeks it will be out
Oh ok, great.
I'm not much for these guys, but if it keeps her happy lol
-
I've been going back and forth on the "no Ward" issue. I'll probably end up buying this anyways.
-
My fiancee LOVES this band.
Any word on if the covers vinyl is actually coming out soon?
-
I'll be getting whatever regular version of this that shows up at retail next week. I need to go back and grab the first two, but they're both on a "When I get to it" status with me.
-
So far, I'm stuck at around 5 items that range from "mildly interested" to "I think I need that". I'm hoping a few more things catch my eye on the final list.
-
I would love a lot of the "80s Hair Metal" albums that came out in the 90s to see a vinyl pressing. For example, the stuff that is available by Warrant on vinyl is their least creative material. Their later albums like Ultraphobic and Belly To Belly are way different and excellent material. I'd love for them to see a vinyl release but it just won't happen.

Picked this up while I was out today. Love the packaging and but haven't listened yet. Very much looking forward to a first listen.

Looking like a very light year for me thus far. If the list were final, these would be my purchases:

I'm starting to get interested in a few more things now.
Is it possible to pin this topic btw?

Here's all my LPs

Thank you very much for making this thread and keeping it updated.
Not a lot I'm interested in just yet, but my old lady will want that Bayside record.

Thus far the most I've paid is $120 through Discogs for a live record I really wanted that was never pressed in the US.

I'd really like to see Get Behind My Satan for RSD. It's the only Stripes record I don't have yet and I really dig a lot of tunes on it.
