  1. That song just being a giant 'fuck you'. Love it, especially when it gets played at weddings. Can't help but laugh.

And Everlong is about one the lowest times in Grohl's life around the end of 96' when he got divorced, had no access to his own bank account, all while Pat and Will were on the verge of quitting. He wrote it in about 45 minutes one night. Worst time of your life = best song ever. That's what music is all about.

Didn't know that about Everlong. Thanks for the info, cool to know.

  2. i hope this whole vinyl curation thing burns out quick. even vinyl me, please and feedbands or whatever it's called, is on some dumb shit. whatever happened to discovering music on your own?

That's my thing; I still like to do things in a more organic way. Hearing music at the record store, talking to other buyers at the store, etc.

  3. Would have loved Kacey to release a variant for this sophomore debut. No doubt, there will be some expectations to go with this release..

Same Trailer still gets regular play on my turntable(s), and rightfully so. One of the few bright spots in country music right now.

Edit: This album is kinda pricey, especially considering her first was regualrly available for less than $15. I'm just happy it is getting the vinyl treatment.

I really should spin Same Trailer more than I do. I'll be getting this one anyway so maybe I'll spin the first more on the lead up to release day.

  4. Curious to know what people focus on here...

at first, for me, death and black metal were the big things. Things like Immolation's "Dawn of Possession" and early releases from Incantation, Monstrosity, Krisiun, etc.

I don't even listen to those records any more, really.

Lately, as a result of my renewed interest in the band Isis, I've been bit by the post-rock bug HARD. And I can't stop buying, haha.

First it was getting every Isis record on vinyl, and then going after new discoveries like Caspian, If These Trees Could Talk, Lights and Motion, sleepmakeswaves, and This Will Destroy You.

Currently listening to something that came in the mail yesterday - Joy Wants Eternity "The Fog Is Rising".

They're like This Will Destroy You mixed with Explosions in the Sky. They have the ambient chill pacing but more guitar-focused like Explosions In The Sky. I love this shit haha.

Curious to know what you guys collect and what you play most often?

I collect mostly what would considered pop/rock. I've got a lot of rap/R&B, a lot of metal, a little jazz and some country as well. I spin whatever I'm feeling like hearing at that time. Though 70% of my collection is pop/rock, I listen to an even amount of everything with country probably being the least.

  5. I ordered mine from Barnes & Noble of all places. I got a confirmation email immediately, then one about an hour later saying it was 05/04. Since I placed that order, my card was stolen and I had to get a replacement. I think/hope that I'll get a notification soon saying payment was declined and they need a new card number.
