    “The Journey” = holy shit

I thought this repeatedly throughout my first listen. I have been following this band closely since 1998, I know all their work backwards and forwards, and was still blown away. Most of this album is on a completely different level than much of what I have been listening to this year. I haven't been so impressed during the first couple days of an Appleseed Cast album since LLO.

From an artwork and vinyl perspective, I uploaded my photos to Discogs today: https://www.discogs.com/The-Appleseed-Cast-The-Fleeting-Light-of-Impermanence/release/13819230

The translucent teal w/ wisps is beautiful. Not a fan of the arigato-style packaging; seems cheap.

Well, I guess I am not so upset about having to get the milky clear after all. Otherwise, I am waiting for the VMP variant. Apparently they took the listing down from their site because they accidentally shipped an unknown amount of their variants to retail shops (lol). When they figure out how many they actually have in their warehouse I guess they will relist theirs (supposedly).

First of all, this album is amazing and have been listening to it digitally all week while on vacation. Got home today and opened my two copies.

In reference to the quote above, I ordered what I expected to be the milky white from Amazon and got the VMP coke bottle clear variant #275/300. I haven't opened it yet, but that is a nice surprise. And I agree hilarious that they accidentally shipped these to Amazon.

Finally, I ordered the Glow in the Dark variant from Double Double Whammy, and initially, it does not look GITD. I thought it was the milky white until I caught up on this thread. But I am "charging" it right now and will see what it looks like after dark tonight.

  3. Looking to trade FOR Frightened Rabbit LPs 'Pedestrian Verse' and 'Winter of Mixed Drinks'. With Scott's passing, these prices have shot through the roof, and they seem to be going for $150 each or so on eBay recently. I can't afford that right now, but I am willing to trade at comparable value.

You can see my Discogs here sorted by price high: https://www.discogs.com/user/drenchedecent/collection?sort_by=sales_history.median.value

Obviously not willing to trade some of those things, but many I am, and Frightened Rabbit is more important to me at this point in my life

And my eBay account here to see my ratings:  https://www.ebay.com/usr/drenchedecent

Also, I am not active here obviously, but I am active on Twitter (https://twitter.com/APturnoffradio) and I have a music blog: www.turnofftheradio.de

    Thanks.

  4. Cover the main stage

Thanks, but typically at large Festivals I prefer to go to the smaller stages to discover up-and-coming bands.

Thanks for the few of you who have filled out the survey; I have gotten a lot of votes for Baby Godzilla, who apparently recently changed their name to HECK.

  5. I am a photojournalist attending HevyFest and I am looking for input on what bands I should cover while I am there. I am a huge Thrice fan, and also plan to cover the Get Up Kids, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Fall of Troy. Most of the bands are complete unknowns to me but I am very openminded about different styles of metal and heavy music. Feel free to comment here, but I also created an online survey to make it very easy: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HYCC26Q

    Thanks!

  6. I have the recent Thrice/Manchester Orchestra split 12" and the original pressing of Thrice- Vheissu (with the gold embossed seamonster), and I am interested in trading both.

My full want-list is on my blog.

You can see my top 5 and full want-list there, but my main goal with trading these two LPs is to complete my Sunny Day Real Estate and Mineral collections.

I am new to these forums, but I know people here, and I have references.

As I mentioned in the Thrice/Manchester post in the general forum, I am going to take it to Criminal Records in Atlanta tomorrow around noon to see if they will buy it or give me store credit. If you are in the Atlanta area and would like to meet up with me face-to-face to work out a trade for this album or Vheissu, PM me. Any trade for Vheissu would need to include another, less valuable, pressing of the album.

  7. If anyone still wants a copy of this, I have decided to trade it or sell for cash. Not going the eBay route. I am going to bring the record to Criminal Records in Atlanta Saturday, February 10 around noon to see if they are interested in buying it or giving me store credit. If there is anyone in the Atlanta area that wants to meet up with me at the store to work something out, PM me.

My ideal trade would be for Sunny Day Real Estate- How It Feels to be Something On AND Sunny Day Real Estate- The Rising Tide.

  8. Newbie here. I was fortunate enough to snag a copy of the Manchester/Thrice split. I enjoy both songs and the artwork is awesome. I would love high quality mp3 rips of both songs; not sure I can do it well enough myself.

Secondly, I am having a hard time resisting the urge to sell it when it is going for $150-200 on eBay. Would I feel slightly guilty doing so, but if I sold it I could purchase at least 3 if not all of my top 4 records on my wishlist:

Sunny Day Real Estate- The Rising Tide

Sunny Day Real Estate- How it Feels to Be Something On

    Mineral- The Power of Failing

    Mineral- EndSerenading

The only reason I haven't ever bought those on eBay are the $40-80 costs each. If anyone really wants the Manchester/Thrice split, I would be willing to trade it for any 2 of the those 4 records.

Lastly, smailtronic, I have that Rose Blossom Punch 7", but it is cracked. I ordered it when it first came out in the late 90's, and it arrived in the mail broken. I immediately emailed Aaron, and he apologized, but they didn't have any left. He sent me a t-shirt instead.
