  1. I bought an Orbit Plus in August of 2018 and I love it. I had to replace the stylus back in the fall, and had some alignment challenges, and like was said U-Turn was easy to communicate with through email. The only thing I don't like about the turntable is manually moving the belt from 33 to 45 rpm--sometimes it falls off and doesn't go back on as easily as I would like.

fair. at this point that's approaching "white whale"-level status tho

At this point I have resigned myself to not owning 'Reputation' on vinyl until she re-records and re-releases it. I have read so much about how bad the picture disc sounds (almost grabbed it off a Target shelf a couple of times, but ultimately passed), and definitely not paying hundreds of dollars for the orange 'Reputation.'

Totally agree that the orange 'evermore' is perfect. I ordered the green, but the orange matches the artwork way better.

The problem is every new version they make is better than the last one haha. Well, the latest Mare might not be better than the last one but that hasn't shipped yet. If you never replaced that copy of Peregrine you really should look into the recent 2LP pressing of it. It sounds fucking incredible.

Yeah, I love my 2007 Graveface Mare Vitalis pressing, so I didn't order the new variant. And good tip on Peregrine--as that 2006 pressing is not the best; especially with the bland artwork. I just checked out the Discogs photos of the 2016 pressing--looks great and resale prices are low; and great to hear that it sounds awesome!

is buying  multiples of TAC records considered a destructive trait? 🤔

Haha. Amazingly, despite being a fan of Appleseed since seeing them play in 1998, today is the first time I have bought a second vinyl variant of any of their albums. I just reviewed my Appleseed collection, and the 2006 Gilead LLO pressing was actually my first Appleseed Cast vinyl record(s). Then I bought Peregrine from Graveface that same year, and then just followed along and bought all the albums as Graveface put out new Appleseed albums and reissued the old ones. The major gap in my collection had been "End of the Ring Wars" until I picked that up earlier this year.

Uhhhh....how is shipping to Canada FIFTY dollars USD???

*scratch that, just saw the fine print:

    "For International Orders:

Currently we CAN NOT ship to Canada.."

I didn't go through the checkout process for Steadfast or BTV, as I am in the US and bought from Bandcamp, but I am guessing either of those has much better shipping policies for Canada and the rest of the world. Also, it sure seems like the white variant is actually going to be in indie stores.

  6. I stayed up til midnight and got about 10 songs in before falling asleep. Finished the album this morning and now halfway through my second listen. I am loving it. Folklore is my favorite TS release, and this is more of the same, so I am eating it up. Definitely more upbeat and poppy, but not in a way that is similar to her older work. Honestly I am still so happily surprised/shocked she went this direction with folklore and evermore; seems surreal when I think back a few years.

Struggling with how to buy it. Currently using Apple Music to stream, and have the vinyl in my cart, but due to how long it will be before it's pressed, obviously no rush. Especially if I don't get the instant digital download.

I also want to get the free shipping, but unsure of what else to add to my order. Anyone ever bought one of the lithographs? What's the quality like? My daughter wants a Taylor Swift poster for Christmas, which seems like a simple enough ask, however, outside of her website, everything online seems like all bootlegs. Considering the "Wildest Winter" lithograph; although obviously won't get it until 2021.

Yeah, a record needs to be THAT good for me to pay that much for it.

I keep detailed year-end lists on my blog, and I just looked back through the last 20 years. "Welcome Interstate Managers" is my favorite album released post-2000 that had not been previously available on vinyl--so I honestly would have paid just about anything.  (In case anyone is wondering what would be next (last 20 years, not on vinyl) would be Eisley's "Combinations.")

But I do agree I think it is reasonable to keep double albums $30 and below. I still haven't bought the Avett Brother's  "Closer Than Together" because of the insane original $49.99 list price. The price of that album does continue to drop, and I just noticed it is now $32.49 on Amazon, so I am close to paying that. I have been waiting for it to get under $30.
