I want to say I saw something similar with the teal one? Or I'm just making that up.

Yeah I posted the teal "In the Weeds" on my Instagram, which I had shown here-- really beautiful held up to light. I was fortunate to get it "early". I do wonder how many of the 8 variants do the same thing.

And, might as well join the fun:

    1. Folklore

    2. 1989

    3. Lover

    4. Reputation

    5. Red

    6. Speak Now

    7. Fearless

    8. s/t

If anybody can get a copy of Fountains of Wayne - 'Welcome Interstate Managers', can you PLEASE pick it up for me?? I'm an out of work full-time musician that can't pay eBay prices. Only one copy each at all stores around me that I know of 😕

This is the only album I want today as well! I had found a local shop that was opening at 8:00 a.m., but they only had one copy. I got there at 6:45, but there were already 30+ people in line! I didn't even get out of my car and turned around and drove home. I'll be hunting for it online all day, and hoping to get it for retail, or a max of $50. Definitely won't pay the $100+ prices that are already popping up on eBay. 😠

  3. Anyone have any tips for what Detroit record store is the most efficient for RSD? I want to go somewhere next Friday to try to snag "Welcome Interstate Managers." I have been to 10 Detroit record stores or so for shopping, but the only one I have visited on RSD is Village Vinyl. That place is the size of the shoebox, but I guess it doesn't matter because I'm going to be spending most of the experience waiting in line outside.

  4. I have now spun the "Trees" version three times through. Sides 1, 2 and 4 sound great, but side 3 sounds pretty bad--lots of noise and "blips". I'm not good at descriptors with bad vinyl sound, but this whole side sounds "metallic." Also, "Epiphany" gets stuck, but that could be a problem with my vertical tracking force (except the last songs on the other three sides are fine).

I was planning on keeping my "Weeds" version unplayed, but now I'd like to know if it is a better pressing than "Trees." Also considering buying the Target version to compare.

Hey, i know this is a long shot, but who's doing black friday? I missed out on signing up like a dummy, and was only looking for one record.

How does one "sign up"? I am trying to figure out how to get Fountains of Wayne- "Welcome Interstate Managers" on RSD Black Friday, and have no idea how to pull that off. I just found out today it is going on sale that day! One of my fav albums of all time, and I would wait in line to get it if I had to, but worried I'm going to have to pay a flipper a fortune to own it. :(

  6. Edit: Oops, sorry didn't realize this had already been posted!

(FYI the collector's edition of 'Brother, Sister' is up again, and it looks like there are 4 copies of "both worlds" and 3 black copies. I had planned to buy it when they put it back up, but I didn't realize it was $120. Too rich for my blood:

  7. First of all, damn--I love this record. Downloaded the MP3s yesterday and I had a bunch of time in the car today and already listened all the way through twice. The rhythm section is especially kick-ass. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised--exceeded my expectations.

Secondly, had a great customer service experience with Merch Central over the last week. I first reached out about the lack of Media Mail, and after half a dozen email exchanges with two people in their customer service, they remedied the issue. First, they told me if I place the order with Priority Mail, they would refund the difference to my PayPal--which they did! And I haven't checked this yet, but apparently they corrected the Media Mail problem with their entire website. So I placed the order for this LP ($25), the Touché Amoré split 7" ($6), and paid $10 for Priority, but then was refunded $5.

Thanks, that is a good option. I prefer the splatter, but might come down to cost. I was also planning to get the Casket Lottery/Touché Amoré split 7" from Merch Central (had never heard those songs until last night; good stuff!).

  9. I went down a Casket Lottery rabbit hole last night, and that reminded me to order this. I'd like to order from Merch Central, but the only shipping option I am getting is $10.45 Priority Mail. In their FAQs it lists Media Mail, but I can't get it to display as an option during checkout. Anyone had any luck there? I am digging these two new songs, and I also need to go back and pick up some of their older work.

It makes sense, especially if factories are charging higher due to COVID-19. It’s just a bummer when it’s a release that you’d buy in a heartbeat for $20.

Yeah, totally, As I spent the $49 (total including tax and shipping), I definitely thought to myself, "Do I want this bad enough that I want it instead of 2 or 3 other new records?" For this record, that was a yes. The new Sufjan and Fiona Apple albums were both around $30 or a 2-LP, but I did get free shipping an no tax. And then I haven't bought the latest Avett Brothers album yet because I don't want to pay the $40-something. Any time I pay more than $25 for a record (including tax, shipping, etc.), I always question myself and hesitate during the checkout process.
