  1. "As a note, We will be selling Damascus test presses (7 of them) to help pay for the costs of keeping SlyVinyl alive. (between $1500 - $2000 a year) Damascus has been gracious enough to help us with these and they will be signed by the band! We will also hand screen print the covers with inverted cover art by a local Denver artist. You can thank Ryan Ribitsch for making this happen. They will be live when the orders go up at 10am MST on Wednesday"

    - Sly Vinyl Facebook

We made a few changes on the Test Press availability :P

Also, feel free to head on over to store.slyvinyl.com and create an account. Might see things through faster for ya when it all drops :)

Thanks for the heads up on making an account Forbs. Can't because of the lockdown though and I'd like to grab one tomorrow. What's the word on this?

  2. Don’t see how your theory is any more valid than mine.

How do they know when it is going to go up on the HT website? How do they know they're going to get that many copies?

I get on the site within the day of releases to get 1 personal press and stuff is increasingly getting sold out by the time I get there.

There's a connection somewhere. If an employee is openly admitting that they use their discount to flip a record, they probably don't hesitate to hook up a friend or themselves to double their money. Because why would you put yourself on the line and pre-sell 5 copies if you might only get your hands on 3?

They don't know when it's going up. They just check in the wee hours of the morning every day to see what was added to the vinyl section.

What you think happens would be so much more difficult then how they actually pull it off.

To really shoot a hole in your theory LazyLabrador is in Illinois and CameronCam is in Pennsylvania. If they both sold 30 of each HT Circa Survive reissue what store did they go to for those records? It was only sent to west coast stores.

  3. It's one thing if you *think* you're going to get your hands on ONE copy, but when you're preselling FIVE total copies, something is up.

This person either works at Hot Topic or knows someone that works at Hot Topic who gives them a heads up and holds the copies until your*disney*helper gets there to buy all of them.

This is a kewl theory but no. They just buy however many they presold on eBay when it goes up on the HT website.

  4. Hey all - Otto here from smw. Just FYI, we've realised that that pack was a miscalculation on our part. We intended it to be a pack including the vinyl and some other goodies, but should have considered the peeps who just love vinyl and want to support the band in that way.

We have now updated the rewards list to include a $90 vinyl option, (which includes a digital download and name on liner notes).

    Cheers.

Records cost $15 to $25 USD. You can go above that but only if you leave sleepmakeswaves and join My Bloody Valentine or Pearl Jam.

Thanks for trying, but no thanks.

  5. so are the deluxe LP and the un-deluxe LP the same?  im assuming they are, but there are only 120 left of the non-deluxe one...would be surprised if they planned on selling 1500 deluxe packages but many fewer single LPs.

i will say this is the way to do a deluxe set.  dont fuck around with tee shirts and tote bags and coasters.

don't fuck around with tote bags and t shirts but frustrated about missing the cutoff for a patch

    ;)

  6. Was about to order it and it says it's ready to ship "About Jan 30, 2014"

Wouldn't you think that means it's the next pressing?

Not necessarily. Although it is possible.

Interpunk gives a timetable for each for each item you ordered to arrive to them(from their various distributors). The amount of items they have on hand ready to ship is a relatively small.

My order with AGBOL took about two weeks because I had items in the order that in slower than expected. If you specifically want the mint I'd email them. They're on top of things and will try to find out for you
